Seven Miles and a Sensational Sunday

33 Comments 2218 views

I’m going to photo my way through this while watching Once Upon a Time and Revenge. It’s been a long day. FUN! But long.

It started bright and early with a morning run.

I was asked by a friend to run the half in the Baltimore Running festival on October 13. I’m by no means prepared. I rarely run anything over 3 miles anymore. So I embarked on the long loop by my house to see how I’d managed it.

No bad! I walked a few times but felt great during and after.

I decided to register. What the heck!

When I got back from the run, Ryan laced up and we headed back out.

He likes to run to the park (about 1/4 of a mile) and then do exercises. We did wall pushups on the jungle gym, dips, and climbed the rock wall. Then we spent time on the swings and just chatted.

It was so nice.

We sprinted home.

What a great way to start the day!

The husband had golf plans with his Dad and headed out early.

Look at that expression.

He HATES mornings. lol

Breakfast with my boys. :)

I had an egg and egg white omelet with kale and bacon bits.

After breakfast we cleaned up a little. It’s Little Bean’s favorite things to do…

He cracks me up!

The kids were being so good I decided to slink away and….

Clean my bathroom. It was in a sad state of affairs.

Then it was laundry time.

And clean rooms time.

I’m slowly turning my old office into a true guest room.

And I finally chose a color.

I made a commitment to myself never to shy away from color again and right now purple is the only one we are missing upstairs. My room is blue, the bathroom is red, Bean’s room is orange, and Ryan’s room is green. I love it!

Anyway, someone when down for nap…

and I worked Ryan to the bone!

He was so helpful today.

Lunch was a chicken, yellow pepper and kale quesadilla I made with leftover BBQ Marinated Grilled Chicken.

Ryan had peppers on the side but I had a leftover wedge of grilled cabbage. YUM!

After lunch we relaxed a bit. I edited that video of Evan emptying the dishwasher and then enjoyed a bowl of yogurt topped with walnuts, dried mango and honey.

Delicious!

One last chore.

Hermit Crab time.

Computer art time.

Then we were off to the store for supplies and someone’s Halloween costume.

We came home, put away the groceries and made a quick dinner with sausage, potato and peppers.

After dinner we started to decorate for Halloween.

A little early? Yes. But it is one of our favorite holidays. :)

The Husband came home, put the kids to bed while I folded the towels, and then I relaxed with some PopChips and Salsa.

Once this is posted I’m going to bed! I’ve been staying up to late and struggling with the nighttime mindless eating again. There’s such an easily solution, yet I procrastinate bedtime like a child. It’s sad.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Great day Roni – that’s so cute watching your son empty the dishwasher, my daughter loved to do that too when she was little. I had totally forgotten. I had a fabulous weekend, volunteering at Chicago Gourmet – check out my latest post, I got to work the celebrity chef book signings! It was insanely fun!

Haha, love the sly bird from the Husband! I have been missing the Sensational Sunday’s – it’s lovely to see the return of them!
Also, it’s a testament to how far you have come “I rarely run anything over 3 miles anymore”. Before you started your whole journey, could you ever have imagined yourself uttering (well, typing) those words? AWESOME WORK!!

That’s awesome that your kids are so helpful. You make it fun for them (as fun as chores can be) and that makes all the difference, I’m sure. Congrats on the run. LOVE the Halloween decorations!

I saw you running down Honeygo in your bright sneaks on my way to the gym! I wanted to beep but my 11 month old was sleeping. You probably would have thought that it was a pervert anyway! :) I have a feeling my little guy will love to empty the dishwasher too. Anytime it is open he gets there as fast as he can! Congrats on the run and fun Sunday!

I especially love your Sunday posts because they show so much of your beautiful house and I am SO jealous of it! I cant remember, did you guys build it or buy it? Got any old posts I can read about regarding your beautiful house? Mine is so old and without storage that no matter how much I clean and put things away, it still looks like my old, cluttered house :(
    Awesome job on the run!
My youngest is 16 months old and she loves to help with the dishwasher too. Isnt it cute?

      RoniNoone

      October 1, 2012

We did build it. Here’s one from during the process. I don’t think I tagged them all to be honest… http://ronisweigh.com/2009/07/im-trying-hard.html

I’ve been finding myself staying up too late, snacking and regretting it in the morning because I am SOOOOO tired! I KNOW if I just go to sleep, I’ll feel better and I don’t mindlessly snack. It’s such a vicious cycle and I know how to keep from doing it, now why can’t I just NOT do it?!

I love the boys, they are so adorable!!!

The Revenge premeire was THE best! I am SO looking forward to this season!

      October 1, 2012

Ditto. I was a little worried they wouldn’t pull off a second season but I’m intrigued.

I LOVE those Halloween decorations! Seems kinda simple, but the whole house looks “haunted”! Such a good idea! Lady, you are one of the most productive people, ever. Total respect :)

Loved seeing your day in pictures. What a fun way to do your post! Also, sooo sympathize with the staying up late and struggling with the nighttime mindless eating. I’m trying to break that habit too. I know if I go to bed, that’ll stop the snacking and give my body a boost with extra rest, yet the frosted mini-wheats part of my brain just wants to stay up and watch TV and snack.

It makes me tired just reading how much you accomplish on a Sunday!! And it took me a second, but I found the bird. : )
