If you are keeping score this is our 4th weigh in together. Have you logged each week? Made your goal a priority? Even with my little vacation, I’m down a total of 3.2 lbs since we started. Sure I’m up a little today but it’s NO BIG DEAL. This isn’t Biggest Loser, this is my life, and there’s going to be s’more filled weekends and times when my gym cancels class. My family’s gonna want to order in for dinner and I may have to stay up late to get work done.

So I’ll take my 3.2 lb loss over these 4 weeks because I EARNED that 3.2 lbs by making small choices that added up over time.

I know so many who get frustrated and then throw their hands up, like 3 lbs is’t worth it but it is! I can honestly say I’d rather lose a little or even maintain if it means I’m active and happy and in control.

So no whining this week. We are in this for the long haul right? There’s no going back now!

    Down 0.9 pounds. I´ll take it. It’s that delightful TOMmy for me yet again and I have been known to gain several pounds for that, so any loss is a good loss! Besides, I know I have been doing good work, eating well and moving, so the results will show up. Despite everything, my clothes are getting loser and my face looks different, so it’s working :)

    I put a ? beside my current weight because I do not know exactly. I weighed 70 lbs a few weeks ago. The scale was becoming my worst enemy so I do not step on it anymore. I know I am eating healthy (following Weight Watchers). So I’ll go by how my clothes feel. And when I need to get into a different size then “maybe” I’ll weigh myself. :)

    Feeling silly as I forgot last week and I dont remember where I was… lol

    I am at 213.2 Today… yep I know its up…Ive been playing with 2 freaking pounds for weeks now.

    I did indulge quite a bit. But Im getting more active and happy about that. And I just did an overhaul of my pantry and did a major shopping run! So fresh fruits are in my sights! :)

    Not weighing in today…on vacation for the week in Cape Cod. There is lots
    of eating (chowda, clam cakes, & lobststah rolls ;) going on but
    I did mange to do a 5k when we arrived and have been walking! I won’t stress this week and back to basics come Sunday! Good weigh ins to all ;)

    I wasn’t able to weigh in this week due to missing meeting due to appointment that was simply something I couldn’t reschedule. Most likely I would have been up. I am struggling with the day to day over eating. I think I learned something from your words today, Roni….I need to start looking at the bigger picture. I have lost 75 plus or minus pounds in under 2 years. i may be struggling today but last week I was down on the scale and if I am up or down this week (sat is my weigh in day) is not the important issue..the important issue is that I can do this in small bits day to day, choosing to eat healthy foods, keep up with my walking, and mostly simply believe in myself for something so important to me!!

    A tiny part of me cannot believe that I somehow managed to lose 20 pounds and a larger part of me is wondering why I’m not more excited. I didn’t just ‘manage’ to lose weight randomly. lol. It’s been eating right, moving A LOT MORE! Making changes that I know will STICK instead of a drop it and hope not to regain it mentality. Really happy with 2 lb loss. I lost an average of 1.6 lbs a week for the past 13 weeks and I am thrilled. Have been on plateua for past three weeks so this is a nice change. Can’t wait to be in the 150’s! Onward! :)

    As of Friday, I was 227.0–basically no movement from when I restarted a few weeks ago at 227.6. My husband reassured me I’d see a better number this week, and I did! Strangely, I’ve been seeing better losses with long walks than intense exercise. Slow and steady! :)

    First weigh-in for me! I lost all my pregnancy weight within 4 weeks (20lbs) after baby was born, but once breastfeeding stopped it slowly crept back on (baby is 7mths). Plan was to spend the year maternity leave working on losing weight. Apparently the plan is not working very well! How does everyone find their motivation?

    I’m so glad that I have been writing down the weigh-ins on my phone as well. When I got on the scale I thought I was up 2 lbs but when I went add today’s weight I was actually down. Seriously I have no idea where my mind is these days but I’m doing the best i can to make good food choices even on the crazy days.

    Went away this week and still stuck to my plan! i was on vacation with my friend and her family and it was awesome. We rode the Hiawatha Trail in Idaho/Montana and it was so beautiful. Roni I think when your littlest guy gets a bit bigger you and your family should come out and do the trail. There were tons of kids and families.

    Herniated 3 lumbar discs in my back in August 2011 at 198lbs. Started moving to help with the pain and haven’t looked back. Plateau at 160lbs, still trying to figure out how to get the lbs moving down again. I’ve committed to cardio 5 days a week starting this week!
    Roni, I’ve been a fan since before I lost this weight and I’ve never reached out to say thank you for what you do… but thank you :) you are an inspiration to me and so many others! I never knew I could feel this good. My mantra is ‘Take care of your body, and your body will take care of you’ and it is amazing how it does and will.

    While I lost 3lbs this week (and that’s great), I had been in a biggest loser type contest at my gym. Over 6 weeks I managed to lose only 1% body fat despite losing 7 pounds and 7 inches. It still keeps me closer to 50% body fat than 40. It’s discouraging and makes me feel so ill that I am nearly 50% fat. :(

    I’m up 4 ounces from last week and I’m ok with that. If you’ll notice I didn’t put anything in the goal weight because I’ve decided my goal weight is wherever my body is happy, and that seems to be between 135-138. I’ve been trying for a while to lose down to 130 but I just don’t think it’s going to happen. I’ve been working with a personal trainer since June and I’m so much stronger than I was and even though my weight has went up some I’m wearing a size smaller in clothes, so I know it’s muscle gain :-) I workout, I eat healthy (most of the time) and sometimes I overindulge, but at the end of the day it all works out so I’m dropping my goal weight and learning to be happy where I am. I’ll continue to weigh-in because I do like the accountability. Thanks Roni for continuing to inspire us!!

    So I lost the 1.4 I gained last week, putting me right back to where I started when I started weighing in 3 weeks ago. I guess that’s better than being higher, which is honestly what I expected. It wasn’t a great week of being conscious of what was going in my mouth, what with the holiday and all. But here’s to accountability and (mostly) moving forward.

    I am done 3 pounds. I am so excited about this. I sat at about 171-172 for weeks. I even ran a half marathon in those weeks and it did not move. It was frustrating but I refused to throw in the towel. I refocused on my diet, I cut out sugar completely last week and ate whole foods. I feel great, and finally got into the 160’s.     I’m down 3 from last week… which makes me happy. I’ve been slacking a bit this summer. I do better when the kids are in school, since there aren’t as many temptations going on and I can find more time to work out before I get them up for school & I head to work. I want to at least maintain. And I admit – whether I’m doing P90x, Jillian Michaels, The Biggest Loser, or (what I’m doing currently) my Zumba DVD’s… I feel better overall when I’m doing something. And I was drinking a ridiculous amount of soda pop too. I want to encourage healthy with my kids. They’ve watched the transformation themselves and encourage it :)

    SO EXCITED! Down 2.4 lbs after a week of eating, drinking and snoozing at the beach! That is my largest one week loss since I started back in April of 2011. I think one think I did right was to cut down on the number and amount of snacks. Also, I did drink wine but I made white wine spritzers with sparkling water–heavy on the water, light on the wine.

    Yay!!! Now to keep the momentum going!

    OK. Ready to begin again. I really did enjoy the food, drinks and friends, but today I would have enjoyed seeing a loss MORE.

    Someone asked about eating their exercise points. I generally do not or if I do I halve the points – for me I believe it’s easy to overestimate how hard I actually worked and I have to be careful to watch the feeling of “I deserve an extra treat because I ran 3 miles today…etc”. That’s how I work it, how do others?

    Just signed up for 24 more sessions with my trainer.
    Since I am back to work, it has been hard just seeing my trainer 1 x per week and going to the gym a total of 4 x’s per week. It would have been easy to give up and tell myself I will go again in the summer when I can go 6 x’s a week,and see my trainer 2 x’s per week. I am in this for the long haul and want to meet my goal this time so no quiting until things are easier. I can do this!!

    I will take any loss this week. I was visiting family this weekend and ate too much. However, the over induglence pushed me to go for a hike. I found out my kids really like hiking, and now I can make that a regular family activity. I have also been suffering from a knee injury, but I have not let it stop me from working out, and my trainers have been great about helping me find alternatives.

    I stepped on the scale this morning for the first time in several months (own it,right?) and I almost cried. I have put on 20 pounds this year for NO good reason. I have excuse after excuse, but that is it, no real reason. I know how to eat healthy and have learned my triggers. I have had a very bad mindset (I will do better starting on Monday, I will do better at the first of the month, I blew it today, so I will eat what I want and start again tomorrow). I was eating healthy, going to body pump 2x a week, treadmill 2x a week and yoga 1x a week. I am just so digusted with myself. BUT, today is a new day. It isn’t Monday or the first day of the month. It is Thursday and it is MY new day. I know how to do this and I will. I am going to take it one meal/snack at a time and think of each one as a choice. Wich me luck!

    I’m down 21.8 pounds total. I was down a total of 34 but I gained some back. I stopped going to the gym and stopped watching what I’m eating. I’m thrilled with the 1.8 loss since we went out of town this weekend. we went out to eat several times. We had the best pizza EVER and beer and I enjoyed every bite of it. We had subs but I only ate a few fries and only half the bread. We had full-fat italian sausage but I didn’t eat any bread with them because we also had potato salad, baked beans (with bacon AND bacon fat), deviled eggs, and cake. I sent my husband out to buy a veggie tray and some apples. We had a few margaritas hanging out by the pool. I ordered chicken that I thought was grilled. Turns out it wasn’t. I only ate a few bites because it wasn’t very good. I probably filled up on the artichoke dip. Yeah – this weekend wasn’t the best in terms of food choices but I did make some better choices instead of going whole hog. I’ve made great choices since we’ve been home and it showed on the scale!

    Well I didn’t weigh in last week because we were on vacation & I didn’t have access to a scale. It was a very stressful vacation & week following. :( I actually did try to control my eating & I did exercise, so hopefully some of that is just water retention?? We’ll see next week.
    I also had my 40th birthday on 8/31 & it sucked!! :( This post was the first time I’ve written that i’m 40. Not really sure how I feel about it?? I don’t feel 40 so I guess that’s good. It’s just been a rough couple of weeks. I’m waiting for some hopefully good news today???
    Sorry, for my ramble, but it does feel good to put some of this down on “paper”.

    Roni: what type of scale do you use? I am asking because my scale measures your weight, body fat percentage, and water percentage. I am wondering how accurate these really are. My weight can fluctuate a pound and the body fat percentage will change as much as 5% with that one pound. I try to not just look at the weight on the scale as a measure of how far I’ve come but sometimes the body fat percentage makes me feel worse than my weight! I know I have come a very long way and I am amazed at the things my body can do now and I am so proud of myself,but all it takes is one “bad” weigh in to put you right back in that funk! Have you found these type of scales to be accurate? Thanks! :)

    second time commenting and accounting for myself here (appreciate that opportunity). down 2.5 pounds this past week. :) that is in part due to jogging (instead of walking – and increasing my time/distance on that). also tried to focus on making the connection between what and how much i ate and how i then felt. and thanks to God, literally, for getting me going on a healthier way of life! :)

    I had the same problem this week. I actually did weigh in on weds but didn’t get a chance to post my reply. I basically maintained and had a good time doing it. I am a baker and I was experimenting with a new dessert and had to test it out on other people. Well let me tell you… every time you bake, there’s no telling yourself you won’t just have ONE little bite. It’s all or nothing because one little bite turns into 4 or 5 haha. Needless to say, I didn’t really gain. I don’t count anything under .8 as a gain because our bodies fluctuate in many ways. I’m happy I maintained this week and got to enjoy myself in the process. But this week is a little different. I mean business!
