Try this!

Turkey Jerky

At only 80 calories a serving with .5g of fat and 15g of protein it’s by far one of the best choices at the gas station in my opinion.

Even if you eat the whole bag (which I do ALL the time) you are only looking at around 240 calories and that’s a bargain especially considering the satisfaction factor. They are chewy, slightly sweet and take a long time eat. Oh! and did I mention fun?

For some reason, I find them fun.

Anyway just popping in to share my food journal and links to posts on the new Travel Blog. That’s right, it’s alive and kicking! Still a work in progress but it’s up! I’m crossing another item off the old Bucket List!

Check out our first 2 posts!

What Why
smoothie made with frozen blueberries, frozen strawberries, cocoa powder, spinach, protein powder and almond milk Had to make a breakfast I could "eat" while packing and entertaining a 1 year old. This was perfect!
Qdoba pick 2 with taco salad and a burrito bowl This husband wanted to take me out before I left.
McDs cone He also wanted ice cream. How can I resist?!
Cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots Car snack!
Turkey Jerky Gas station stop.
Split seaweed salad + lobster miso soup + 4 maki rolls with Jen Out to dinner in NY!
Just a short walk in the city I skipped yoga today, it was too much with heading out of town.
blah.. so bad when I’m traveling. I feel dehydrated.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Hi Roni – I also love turkey jerky – it’s also right in the register lines at my local Target, right next to candy bars. Often I grab a bag of the jerky and don’t feel deprived at all. Have a great time at BlogHer!

I love jerky as a snack, especially on the road, but sometimes it’s hard to find it gluten free, because most brands use teriyaki and/or soy sauce

I miss the Wednesday weigh-in. :0( Is it going by the “weigh-side”? *groan*

Nope! I’ve just been traveling. I’ll probably weigh in next wednesday. :)

I’ve never tried jerky. I have a dehydrator though, maybe I’ll try to make my own. Have a safe trip and a wonderful time in NYC. I’m looking forward to the recaps.

Thanks for the recommendation Roni. Do you find that the turkey version gets stuck between teeth as much as the beef version? That gets annoying, but I love jerky and, if the turkey is better, I’ll pounce on it!

Hope you’re having fun in NYC.

Not that I noticed but I don’t eat the beef stuff much to compare.

Gotta admit, I’m addicted to Jerky! Such a great snack for when you’re on the go.
