One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

A Sensational Sunday at Home

20 Comments 2584 views

I didn’t leave the house today and it was glorious! I cooked. I cleaned. I organized. I go so much done and I needed to. Right now I feel ready to face the week ahead and that’s what Sensational Sunday’s are all about.

I took lots of photos so I’ll let them do most of the talking. Here they are in order.

Oh! but first my run. I started the day with 5 miles.

Totally faster than I expected at 52:54.

When I got back the boys woke up and we decided to play/clean a bit before breakfast. That meant we had to go downstairs and someone what not happy when I blocked him from attempting to do it head first.

We’ve been working on the backward foot first technique.

Downstairs we cleaned, played and, had fun!

Breakfast time with the boys!

I love that Ryan makes his own concoctions. Today it was chocolate cheerios with fresh strawberries and frozen blueberries.

He specifically asked for frozen ones even though we had fresh.

Bean had an egg with frozen blueberries and banana although he barely touched the fruit.

I had an egg white omelet with peppers, summer squash, spinach, fresh cayenne pepper and bacon bits.

Back to cleaning!

I started a batch of Strawberry Spread with Honey and Chia Seeds adding some fresh blueberries to.

How come cats can make anything look comfortable?

The boys then played Wii olympics…

while I finished up the "jelly"

and started cleaning out my old office turned guest room.

The husband was on laundry duty and this is what I got when I told him he hasn’t given me the finger in awhile.

Lunch was PB & Homemade "J" for everyone!

Baby cat rendezvous on the ever popular steps.

Impromptu dance party in the foyer.

Office is DONE.

That’s my old dinning room!

I made a batch of basil salt.

More on that later over on GreenLiteBites.

What’s Little Bean looking at?

Don’t worry. He headed out to play too. :)

I got dinner on the grill.

BBQ chicken, broccoli and whole wheat pasta salad.

It was a great Sunday Supper.

Once we got Bean to bed I got a little work done and finally posted this Garlic and Herb Cheese Tortilla Pizza

Garlic and Herb Cheese Tortilla Pizza ...

Before bed some Banana Berry Soft Serve with my Baby. :)

STILL planning on that Yonanas machine review.

Time for bed. I have an early morning tomorrow and I’m totally ready to rock this week!

Oh! and Dinner out on Friday was AWESOME! Click here for my post about it.

Some of those photos will make for great blackmail when your boys are older!

I took the day off from running because my calves were so sore from my friend’s invitation to do a “Insanity” workout from the Beach-Body DVD series.

Your photos always warm my heart. Coming from a family where love was not always present, it is reassuring to see that it truly does exist. Thanks for sharing with us.

I wish my Sunday was as productive as yours!! I do not like starting out the week when there is so much to do around the house!!!

I can’t believe I am asking this, but what is the paint color for the room that Little Bean is looking out the window? I love it!!

oh and I like the licence plates on the wall . Did you buy or make it? My husband collects and collects them.

    August 13, 2012

Those aren’t license plates! They’re race bibs and they remind me and I can do anything I put my mind to. :)

Roni – could you post on how you do your pasta salad on the grill? Do you pre-cook noodles or can you get it all magically done on the grill? :-) LOVE all your ideas – so inspirational!

Actually, it was some leftover pasta I made with fresh veggies a few days before. I just reheated it on the grill. I’ll put anything in an aluminium container and “cook” or warm it up on the open flame. Anything. :)

Roni, you inspire me. Wow, you can get a lot done on the weekends. I have been reading your site for months. I love it! I’m a 47 yr. old mom that is 60 pounds overweight. I have done WW over the past thirty years on and off. I’m in a place where I want to change my health for the better. Thank you for all the great recipes.

I haven’t been on your site for such a while ( a couple of months to be honest) – – I can’t believe how grown up the kids look!! I guess it’s true, time flies when you’re having fun :D
