This morning I woke up to the sounds of thunder at 6:30AM. This meant no run and no update on my audio book (I’m listening to The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest on my long Sunday runs.)
I was disappointed for a minute until I fell back asleep.
That NEVER happens.
I woke up about an hour later and made my daily tea before grabbing the baby.
This new approach to upping my "water" intake is working like a charm. I’ve recently become super lazy and bored with plain old water. So I picked up that canister on clearance at Target. Every morning I fill it with water and tea bags giving me a fun refreshing drink throughout the day. Today was a pomegranate white tea. Delicious!
Soon the baby joined me and I got cooking!
I cleaned and cut fresh fruits and veggies to fill Ryan’s lunches all week…
…and made a batch of Banana Oatmeal Cups with Chocolate Chips.
That everyone loved!
Since I didn’t get my long run in this morning, I left the boys with their Beyblades…
and snuck in 2 miles before The Husband headed off to for is golf date.
When I got back it was blast the music and dance around crazy time. This little guy’s favorite thing to do!
He lights up when I turn on the iPod and actually asks for music in his own way. Check him out over on PoopButterflies I shared a super quick video of his reaction to The Black Keys.
Before The Husband left I made him a feast…
…and joked that I’m the best wife in the world. ;)
I also made a pot of chili using all the fresh tomatoes and peppers I have from the farm.
I’ll share how I made this on GreenLiteBites this week. I love making chili from fresh vegetables. The only can I used was some black beans.
It came out delicious.
Once Bean went to nap I embarked on an under conch cleaning adventure.
Then it was lunch before heading to the mall.
We were planning on a hike but with thunder storms rolling in and out all day the mall seemed like a better option.
We had fun at the Lego Store.
Shared some ice cream.
And ogled some candy.
Why he wants candy, I have no idea. He’s never had any!
We came home and made quesadillas for dinner using the chili as filling with some cheese, spinach and peppers.
Lunch was made for tomorrow and I’ll be reactivating the School Lunch Ideas on GreenLiteBites!
I shuffled the kids off to bed and finished up the cleaning for the night…
My night ended with some TV, yogurt and a friend. :)
Hope you had a great weekend! I’d blog about what in the works this week but honestly, I don’t even want to think about it right now. I’m completely overwhelmed.
