From The Beach!

11 Comments 1416 views

The last 2 days have been a blur. I don’t even know where to begin. That project I was working on is over, I cleaned like a mad woman, The Husband came home from his business trip, we packed, and then it was off to the beach!

Every year we spend a week at the Jersey shore. This is my 17th year visiting Seaside Heights and, honestly, there is nothing I look forward to more. The beach, the boardwalk, the mini-golf, the rides (oh! the rides! — more on that later) it’s my favorite vacation. We literally park the car and don’t touch it for a week.

However, I can’t stay away from the internet. Well, I can, I just don’t want to. I like you guys too much. :) However, it took me two days to get the tethering on my Droid to work. Hence my short hiatus.

Anyway, I’m here and I want to stay somewhat accountable and sharing my favorite week of the year.

Here are few pictures from our arrival and first day.

Look at my BABY! What the heck happened? (Click here to see how he looked last year – I was wearing him for Pete’s Sake!)

My other BABY!

Looking at the ocean with Grandma.

It’s Grandma’s Birthday!

I LOVE this shot!

And this one.

Dad’s with strollers melt my heart.

Little Bean was wired but oh so fascinated by all the lights.

We did go one a few rides and, well, I think I’m done with them. I never thought I’d be anti-ride but the older I get the less fun they become. Why is that?

This one spun me into insanity. I was just ecstatic I survived.

Today (Sunday) we are all about the Beach! I already went for my run and made breakfast. I’m going to try and strike the balance between vacation indulgence and healthy choices. I’ll post a few Food Journals along they way and be back with more beach memories.

Side note: If I was a truly evil Mom I’d share the video of the 7 year old jamming out to Nicki Minaj in the car but you’ll have to form your own mental picture of that one. ;)

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Love this post! I totally understand the “rides” comment! I used to love them and found that as I “aged” – they were not my most favorite part anymore… can’t quite put my finger on it – but they definately don’t jump at the chance anymore… maybe it’s the feeling of vertigo I get, or the aches in my neck and back the next day… not sure – but I have pretty much stopped!

Hope the rest of your vacation is restful, full of laughter and sweet moments with your family!

Looks like so much fun; we just got back from our week at the beach and we had such a great time. My girls are 5 and 3 and it was such a great age to enjoy it. I can’t believe how grown-up your 7 year old is looking! Have fun…

Love the thought of yearly family vacations. It seems like its something many dont get to experience. I just booked my family tickets to Hawaii and we are super excited to spend two Weeks there in September! We travel all the time as a lifestyle, but theres just something about a true vacation! Enjoy the down time Roni!

I knew you went to the beach every year but I didn’t realize you were in Seaside! I live right over the bridge in Toms River. Have a great time!

urgh, jealous of you having a week at the beach! we’re not having a vacation this year due to saving for our wedding. I want nothing more than to spend a day lounging on the beach with a good book!

    enjoy :)

I feel the same about the rides too, loved them all when I was younger but now, why pay to be sick!
