It’s a bullet list kind of day…

Food
What Why
1 egg/2 egg white omelet with kale and bacon bits I’ve been getting kale at the farm and it’s slowly replacing my spinach.
Maki combo for lunch – 1 california roll – 1 tuna and avocado roll both with brown rice, a garden salad with ginger dressing and a bowl of miso soup SUCH a satisfying lunch! The Husband and I each got the combo on the way home from the doctors today.
Leftover Zucchini Turkey Burger (click here for the recipe) on a whole wheat bun, roasted beets, 1/2 sweet potato, 1/2 baked potato (I split each one with the kids) and a green salad Dinner and they all ate beets… again! (Click here to see how I make them)
Banana Soft Serve with blueberries, cocoa and almond milk (click here for the recipe) It was better than the leftover birthday cake The Boys were eating!
Activity
Skipped my normal morning BodyPump class. I’ve been choosing sleep over working at this week since I haven’t been feeling well. My cough is finally subsiding a little.
Water
Only unsweetened tea and water again today. Can’t believe the difference it makes when I’m hitting the water jug!

    Maybe this is a silly question, but what difference does it make in you when you drink the water, beside having to “go?” I have always been fit and healthy, but I just don’t care to have to drink a bunch of water. If I am thirsty I drink and its usually only after a workout. I never just have water and consume it because of however many glasses I am supposed to get. What am I missing?

    I can only speak for myself but when I’m drinking enough water, as in I make a conscious decision to have a jug by my side and stay hydrated, I feel better. I’m not as bloated, I don’t retain as much water, I don’t have the urge to snack as much, etc. It may be mental, I don’t know but for me it’s big piece of the puzzle.

    Everyone always wants to know the “secret”… but i’d say getting plenty of water in is close to the top of the list. I’m certain i’ve snacked many times when all my body needed was some water. Also Roni.. taking care of yourself as you are.. good food, rest, water.. is the BEST thing you can do to get better. Everyone comes into the pharmacy wanting to take something to get better NOW.. but it doesn’t work that way :) Oh, and you’ll save money too.
