Smores and Training Schedules

11 Comments 1437 views

Two things that sounds really funny to post about together but.. whatever. That’s what’s going on with me right now.

Let’s start with the smore…

smore

Yes THE smore.

I had one, just ONE!

I didn’t mindless shove graham crackers in my mouth (like I used to.) I didn’t sneak extra chocolate on the side (SO HARD.) And I didn’t down random marshmallows (like the 7 year old.)

That is the power of a conscious food decision. I didn’t make it off limits. I didn’t fret or stress or freak out when the Little Guy asked for one. I decided to indulge without guilt and it. was. delicious!

Just thought I’d share that small victory. I’m proud of myself. :)

Ok, on to the training… After having inconsistent workouts since the Tough Mudder and taking a week off because I wasn’t feeling well, I decided it was time to map out a schedule for myself again.

Training schedules do wonders for me and I’m in need of some motivation. I actually had to go back and reread this old post of mine. I feel like I’m starting over, again. Running is hard. I can’t lift as much weight. I can’t do as many pushups.

It’s frustrating how fast you lose progress. It’s almost as depressing as how easy it is to gain weight vs losing it.

Stop. Just stop and live in the now.

That’s what I have to keep telling myself.

Mapping out a few months that ends in an event is always motivating for me. It makes the workouts real. Scheduled. Non-negotiable.

Here’s my plan for September’s Tough Mudder

My plan is to continue sharing some fun workout videos as I will be doing more Crossfit style workouts again. I miss them. The videos and the workouts.

Here’s today’s food journal . I’ve really been enjoying keeping it again. I need and want the extra accountability right now. Somehow, it helps me enjoy a smore without going down a crazy binge path.

Food
What Why
2 egg omelet with chives and bacon bits Quick breakfast after my run and taking Little Guy to camp. It was a crazy morning!
Popcorn We have a new popcorn place at the mall and I can’t walk buy it without buying. Well, that’s a lie I can I just don’t want to. :)
Leftover tilapia, brown rice and green beans I love having leftovers for lunch. This is a recipe idea I will be sharing on GreenLiteBites I’m just behind.
Orange Stomach was growing and I wanted somthing to hold me over to dinner
Leftover turkey burger (click here for the recipe), baked beans, grilled zucchini Great summer meal!
My perfect smore :) Honestly, becuase the 7 year old wanted one.
Activity
Morning run and a nice walk with Little Bean (about 30 minutes)
Water
OK, but could have been better.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Guess workout schedules are digging into everyone’s thoughts lately. I just posted on my blog about making my July training schedule. I start marathon #2 training (1st marathon post baby) on July 1st but want to continue to include my newest favorite, cx works (30 min of core) and my spin classes. Its one hell of a schedule. A little intimidating. I forgot what a commitment marathon training was!

Reminds me of the quote, “I believe in using races as motivators. It’s hard to keep on an exercise program if you don’t have a significant goal in sight.”

Totally seeing the value of the “Why?” in food journal with each post you write. I absolutely adore this idea.

Hey, sometimes life just calls for a s’more! ;)

Great schedule. Are you going to do any running on the beach? That always makes it so much harder with that sand underfoot. I can’t wait to see pics from your Color Run!

I LOVE smores! I keep considering trying to make a “healthy” graham cracker–but have been too lazy so far :-)

I think you’ll be surprised at how quickly you progress now that you’re back at it. You might feel like you’re starting from scratch, but you’ll get back to your old level quicker this time than it took you originally!

I love s’mores. They’re really the only reason I go camping. :) (Kidding, but they are delicious)

I ate a s’more this weekend. One. My daughter made it especially for me and I didn’t want to hurt her feelings by not eating it. Bad mistake. It spiked my blood sugar so bad that I turned a thousand degrees, sweated until my clothes were soaked, felt nauseous, and had to go lay down. I thought for sure I’d have to go to the hospital – and I’m not even diabetic!

I love s’mores, but apparently my body can’t handle them.

That was a tasty looking s’more! Nice job on the willpower to have just one.

I tell my clients it’s okay to cheat every once in awhile, but it’s hard for me to recommend something I wouldn’t eat. And s’mores are one of them. :)

I’ve been floundering majorly with my workouts. I lost my groove and I can’t seem to get it back. I have a race on the horizon, but it seems so far away that I’m not even thinking about it yet! I’ve definitely lost my mojo.

I was totally drooling over smores ingredients at the store an hour before I read this. *sigh*
