One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

Weekend Quote: You’re Not Really Hungry

9 Comments 1607 views

This weekend quote come from the comments of yesterday’s Question of the Week Post, What Do You Get Out of ____?

Marissa said,

…then my mom’s voice kick’s in, “If you have to stand there wondering what to eat, then you really aren’t hungry.”

Dang! Mom is ALWAYS right. ;)

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Very true. I’ve done this many times and will have to keep that quote in mind.

Another similar one: If you’re not hungry enough for an apple (or insert any other lower calorie, healthy food), you’re not hungry. How often have I been “STARVING” for that bread or bag of chips or whatever, but given the option to eat something less nutritionally dense, have no interest?

    Ohh that’s SO TRUE!

I always tell my kids that one. If you’re not hungry enough for something you’re not that hungry!

Oh my goodness! I totally agree with Paige too! Roni thank you so much for including me and my mom;-) in your post. I’ve been helping plan a party and wasn’t able to post when I first saw my mom’s quote. I will let you know that I did a little happy dance! It’a a huge honor for me to be mentioned in your blog. Thank you again for the constant inspiration!

I can’t even begin to count how many times I have said that to my kids! Sometimes I just want to eat because something tastes good!

I have to tell my adult-self this every time I’m hungry. As of recently, I’ve had to reconnect with my belly to rediscover my levels of hungry…and that a slight twinge of hungry doesn’t mean it’s time for a meal. Its a tough battle.
