Wednesday Weigh In: So Far So Good!

weigh in

I’m a little speechless. Last week the scale jumped up over 6 lbs this week it’s down 8.

Wah?

I really am speechless but I can’t say I’m completely surprised. The scale is so, so, SO fickle! Especially when I eat processed or salty restaurant foods WHICH I rarely ate at all this week! I’m guessing that’s what I owe for the lower number on the scale.

My A-Ha Moment has really freed and motivated me. I haven’t kept a food journal but I can tell you my diet revolved around eggs, lean meat and veggies. Thinking back I made tilapia, chicken, and pork chops for dinner and 3 nights this past week I served 2 veggies on the side instead of a starch like rice or noodles. I also had a lot of soup and salads for lunch. Especially this salad (I really am obsessed!) And I enjoyed coming up with a new light lunch idea using Portobello mushrooms. Oh! and I also enjoyed a VitaCake and a cup of tea a few times when I craved something sweet.

I feel good. Really good. I didn’t make it to the gym today but I did get a walk in with my baby..

It was so beautiful out!

I’m going to continue to weigh in out of curiosity. Am I being over confident? Only time will tell.

Hey Roni. Good news about your weigh in and Ah-ha moment. Have you read the book Refuse to Regain, Barbara Berkely, MD? Your changes fit it nicely with the 12 rules.

Anyhoo, congrats and I enjoy reading your (and Barbara’s blog). I really needed to see that long term weight maintenance is possible. I start into weight transition & maintenance this Friday.

Take care and thanks again for sharing your break through. Karen P

Your ah-ah post made me smile. So many of us try to get THERE, you know, the place when it comes effortless, you look great, and do not listen to the scale. It’s a process. We go for healthy, not skinny!!

Almost, *almost* got my megaphone up and start speaking my gospel… but I won’t. I know you’ll hate that, and I’lll respect your blog. But… do you see that??? Do you?? :D And with that,

I just have 1 more question… did you really made you and your husband lose the game when you meet each other, because you were drunk??? LULZ He spilled the beans

Love this picture of you and Little Bean. So precious.

This week you are are even getting validation for your ‘Ah-ha’ realization from the scale. That’s got to feel good :)

Wow! That is awesome. What a great feeling. Isn’t it amazing when you learn something new about yourself. You think you’ve got yourself all figured out and then poof you learn something new and it is because, like you said, we are constantly changing and growing! Go girl!

That’s awesome! I stayed the same for three weeks and then kinda gave up bc of my wedding dress. But I’m gonna start eating good and making it to the gym more. I rather lose a little in my dress then gain weight!

That is AWESOME Roni! I think you said before the last weigh in you had Chinese or something with a bit o’ sodium so I knew your weigh in this week would be a good one. Sounds like you got in a lot of great whole foods this week! Rock it girl!

That’s terrific! Maybe your scale was just a little off last week, instead of you losing 8 lbs. I always believe that everything happens for a reason. I have to wonder if that scale number last week was fate trying to teach you something… (AKA “A-Ha Moment) Either way, congrats!!!

YAY!! Glad the scale showed you some love. I was laughing so hard at your FB post yesterday about your anniversary with your husband. I think we would have been great friends in college. HA!! Keep up your hard work, it is paying off. That salad looks divine. I printed it off and plan to make it soon. I need to hunt down the smoked gouda though. I guess I could sub for feta cheese if I wanted though.

That’s awesome Roni! I knew that you had it in you to do this on your own.

You and the little bean are so cute! Congrats on the weight loss too. Eating healthy pays off big!

Wow that’s great! The scale can definitely be pretty crazy sometimes.

I am so glad you are going to continue to weigh. I too am at the last 10 lbs after having baby 6 months ago and unmotivated to lose it. Tracking more off than on and don’t feel like tracking at all. You are always an inspiration!

It is amazing what the heck processed foods can do to our weight. I try to avoid them if possible but sometimes life just gets in the way. I just try to make the healthiest choices I can everyday and not beat myself up if I do indulge.

I read your A-Ha moment and I was nodding along while reading. I wasn’t feeling like “myself” since Tuesday. Feeling fat & bloated. It took until today and sweating like a whore in church that I realized I hadn’t been to the gym since Tuesday morning(sick child) and I also had a Dosarita while out at Big Lou’s on Tuesday night(Man Vs Food). HELLO! Beer, SALT. DUH! But I am back! And woo hoo! I have a love/hate relationship with the scale and am finally(18m later) figuring that my body(and clothes) say a lot more about ME and the work I put in than the scale EVER will! XOXO!
