A few bad food habits have been resurfacing. You know that’s always a sign something’s bothering you. Face it head on instead of stuffing it down with cheese and chocolate.

You do realize all your stress is self-inflicted, right? You don’t need anyone pressuring you, you’ve got it covered.

Now, here’s the plan…

take a deep breath.. make your hot cocoa.. go to bed.. wake up and do your best yet again tomorrow.

  1. Good for your for bloggin’ it out! Hope it helped and your tomorrow is a bright one!

  2. wish I had read this before I dove headfirst into the candy bowl. (sigh)
Tomorrow is thankfully a new day!!

Amen. Sometimes I feel like a bird who keeps making runs at the runway without taking flight (i.e. saying today is the day that I will___________ (exercise, drink my water, not snack like crazy)), and then I crash land. But I think victory is believing that you WILL ultimately succeed even if today is crap. I just keep taking runs at the runway and eventually I take flight and go for a few weeks before I crash and burn. Like a phoenix though right?! Tomorrow is a new day and I’m gonna keep running at it!

Your notes to self always resonate with me. I feel the same! Never ever ever give up!

  4. Thank you for posting that. We all need encouragement not only from others but mostly ourselves :)

Dealing with problems head on starts with a good night’s sleep. Good night everyone!!! :)

Someone once asked our Weight Watchers leader, “Al, does it ever get easier?” He replied, “It doesn’t get easier, but it gets more manageable.” I think that we need to remember that we will always be waging a battle against these destructive food habits – but we learn stategies for how to deal with them. We’re deceiving ourselves if we think that when we reach goal weight that the battle will be over.

  7. Emily says:

I so needed this note to self the past two weeks!! It’s a great one.

  8. Christina says:

you are so right that bad habits signal something else is bothering you. Good reminder for me! Thanks for sharing!

  9. Kristi says:

100% agree. I have to stop myself and often and think about what the real problem is. Sometimes i can fix it, sometimes i have to just breathe. Thanks for the reminder!

I’ve been experiencing the same food problems. I am getting better, but there is work to be done. I just wanted to tell you thanks for the snack free evening challenge you wrote about at BTL. Even though I failed several times, I finally succeeded. I took it almost 2 years ago and it is still a habit today. Even on the days I go off course I still have “no snack evenings”. I’ve been using your son’s lunch box ideas lately too. Raw turnips and butter beans have been in my lunch box too. Keep the good ideas coming because they have really helped me.

  11. Hi Ronni its Angela I love your blog and I have followed it off and on for a couple of years about 3 years ago I lost 65 lbs. Got pregnant and had a baby lost it quite quickly but now have gained about 10-15 lbs. I feel like rebelling sometimes too so loved your video about that I found this article that I thought was awesome about a study. I really enjoyed it anyway you made me think and then the article was great too http://www.angelaluvnlife.com I wrote about the article. Anyway I love your blog and thanks for the food for thought!

If you don’t BUY it in the first place, you can’t EAT it. And if you are BUSY and working, you won’t have TIME to stuff your face. The end.

  13. roni says:

You’re SO SMART Cheryl. I’ll just remove all food from my house. GENIUS! My kids and husband can fend for themselves and I’ll fast for the rest of my life while working myself to the bone. THANK YOU I would have never thought of that.

  14. roni says:

Angela – Your link isn’t working. :( Would love to see the article.

  15. Hey ronni sorry I bought the domain haven’t linked it yet I guess still trying to figure it all out, but my full website is http://www.angelaluvnlife.wordpress.com It was like two posts ago. Hope you like it :) It was just so interesting.

  16. cheryl says:

you are WELCOME- just here to help. (will correct spelling/grammar too if needed!)

  17. roni says:

Your’s or mine? Unlike you, I share myself (imperfections and all) to try and inspire others, not tear them down. If you have something constructive to say without being mean, negative and downright insensitive, feel free. If not, then please leave. I don’t understand why you bother visiting blogs at all. For someone who’s SO busy working and living the perfect life you have an awful lot of free time on your heads spewing your self-important, know-it-all opinions on blogs.

You have it all figured out. Why don’t you use all this free time to educated us all on how we can be more like you by starting your own blog.

It’s not “work” after all because, you know, us lazy moms who are home with kids can handle it and if we can I’m sure you, superwoman, can.

    THE END.

  18. Lori McHugh says:

    Hi, Roni,
Just ignore the flaming poster. I (and countless others) have gotten so much information, encouragement, joy, inspiration, and humor from your posts. You can’t please all of the people all of the time – but you certainly please a huge majority of us!

I look forward to Worldless Sunday every week – you are a dear cyber-friend!

    With love and blessings,
    Lori

It’s amazing how a few simple words from you can give me such a change in attitude. I’ve noticed my eating habits are slipping and there IS something bothering me! I’m not facing it, just eating it. Thanks for the words of encouragement and permission to give myself a break and start over.

  20. Lauren says:

LOVE this. Hate the pit beef, french fries, 4 chocolate granola bars from yesterday AND the fast food lunch today. Hmmm…someone needs to face it instead of eating to avoid it!
