How Old Are You REALLY?

18 Comments 1752 views

While moping around the internet procrastinating work (actually, I’ve been uninspired but that’s another story) I stumbled across RealAge.com.

I’ve been intrigued by this site for years. I think I took my first test in my mid-twenties and my “real age” was over well over 30. It was depressing.

Over the next few years I took it a few more times and it was always told me I was a few years older then what I really was. Although, as I lost weight, changed my diet and got more active, the gap lessoned.

I really wish the site kept archives of past “real ages” because I’d love to see the progression but I can’t find any kind of history on the site.

Anyway, I decided to take the test again tonight and I was SHOCKED at the results…

For those that don’t know, I’m 35. That’s 8 years!

Insanity!

This was the boost I needed. A friendly reminder that the lifestyle I’m leading is worth every bit of hard work, time and compromise it takes.

After I took the test I checked out RunningInTheUSA.com and found a few races over the next few months and registered. Running is my Basketball. No more moping around feeling sorry for myself. If I can’t run, I’ll walk.

If you have an extra 10 minutes (the test is long) take the quiz. In my opinion, lowering that number is a much better goal than trying to beat the scale.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

I forgot about that! I went in and saw that I was 330 lbs the last time I did that quiz and my real age was 38…just over a year older than I was at the time. Then I just modified and I’m down 40 lbs from that and I’m 30 or 7 years younger! Thanks for the reminder!

Im going to check it out later today – need to get my butt moving and to work :(

Good for you for registering for the races. I just registered for 4… damn they are expensive! There is a local 5k in Harford county in ..April 5k by the bay… all female run. Very enjoyable… you should check it out!

This year Im doing that one, the annapolis zooma half, bird in hand half and phili full (once registration opens)… want more but need to check the wallet :)

I did it and was so happy with the results. I’m 72 and the number the test came up with was 58. A healthy lifestyle and feeling good is the best thing you can do for yourself and your family.

That is amazing for you! It is such a good feeling to know that working out and eating healthy can so quickly change your life. I’m not sure if I’m ready to find out my real age…perhaps after another week or two of my recent life style changes. You are an inspiration!

I’m going to take the test today. Can’t wait to see how old I am!! I love registering for events. Gets my adrenaline pumping! Why are they so expensive though. That’s the downside, unless they are for a good cause/charity.

    Have an amazing Wednesday Roni!!

Wow! Thanks for suggesting taking the test. I’m 51 but my real age was 43.8 so I’m happy about that. Now I just need to get into that yoga class I’ve been thinking about! Thanks for all the GREAT veggie recipes that help my family and me stay healthy and HAPPY!!

It wasn’t as bad as I thought! I knew I would be older than my chronological age, but I was pleased with how close it was. Now to let my foot heal for another day or two, and then I’m starting a new gym! I’ll get that “real” age down in no time!

I think I came out better when I took this in the past. Seems to me some questions have changed.

I took the test and it also said I was 8.5 years younger than I am!! I think that is great. I am glad I exercise and do not have alot of health problems.

I just took the test and I already knew I had some work to do, but now I am going to be in gear more! My test results are my age, maybe up by .7 months. Good questions and made one think about what we are eating, drinking, doing physically, too. Overall I was happy with the results. Thanks for the tip.

Enjoy the rest of your week!!!

The question above made me smile. I am 29 and my friends tells me I look younger than a 29y/o woman. I says it is because I kept myself fit and living healthy is the key!

I took the jointage test. I broke my leg in 2005 and have stiffness in that leg–it said my jointage was 80 (I am 40!). OUCH! Guess I better focus more on my joint health?!

I forgot about this one- but have done it in the past….AND like you do not remember what I got before. But when I just retook, I noticed you can email the results to yourself. So you could start keeping track now!
