I’m Not Interested.

I received this email about a few days ago…

I am a steady reader of your site and I commend you for doing
a great job in publishing such interesting articles. I really like the post
about Whole Wheat Pasta with Rainbow Chard and White Beans.

I am looking for the right person to contact, for a proposal that would
benefit both our site. Would that sound interesting to you? Please let me

My response…

I’m not interested if it involves swapping links or posting text link ads for a one time fee. I also have no interest in a new ad network or any shady SEO practices. I don’t post guest posts. I don’t like pop up ads and I won’t provide any of my content for free or in exchange for “credit.”

If your offer doesn’t fall into any of those categories, I’d love to hear from you.

I haven’t heard back yet.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

I might use that reply myself… I just don’t reply to people now, I must get half a dozen a day and I just can’t be bothered to respond.

Great response! Direct and to the point – that ought to save you some trouble. I have two tiny blogs and already get weird requests – I can’t imagine all the requests you get with your big blogs. Just curious why you don’t post guest posts? I loved the one you had a while back from Danica’s Daily on Roni’s Weigh.

@LauraJane100 I only do them for special circumstances. My blogs are very personal in nature, they are places for me to self express. Plus once you open the flood gates of guest posts everyone and their mother wants to contribute and that’s a lot to manage. It’s just not the direction I want to take blogs in right now.
