Don’t Forget About Your Life Lines

23 Comments 1952 views

I so did NOT want to cook tonight. I had chicken defrosted for dinner but my energy was tapped after a day out with both boys.

I stared at the messy kitchen with no motivation.

None.

Not an ounce.

Nothing.

Nada.

Nil

Dude I was tiiiired. All I wanted to do was sit on the couch.

I came *this* close to ordering a pizza.

That’s when I decided to…

phone a friend.

Reaching out on twitter and Facebook I said,

Trying to muster up energy to make dinner. I’ve got nothing left in me today. Remind me how much better I feel when I cook versus ordering a pizza because I’m moments from picking up the phone.

A few people chimed in and that’s when AllTheWeigh said…

Make dinner and take a pic…we’ll drool, feel inspired to make our own chicken.

I was re-energized!

Before I knew it, this was simmering on my stove…

Click here to see how I made it.

SO much better than take-out pizza AND my family loved it too.

Don’t be afraid to use your Life Lines.

Whatever they may be.

That’s why they’re there.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Great reminder! And that chicken looks great. Thanks to your inspiration, I might have to try that soon (instead of ordering pizza!).

Hi Roni. I wish I’d read this before my husband and I sent out for pizza because we didn’t want to cook tonight. The chicken is in the fridge and we’ll use it tomorrow. (and my pizza didn’t have cheese, but still….) Thanks as always for your inspiration. And yay for life lines!! Have a great Tuesday.

I have a Twitter account, but never really got the hang of it and how to use it. Maybe I should give it another try. I could use all the support I can get. It’s tough maintaining. Put on 5 pounds during the holidays and really struggling to get back!

Good for you!! That looks way better than pizza anyway! ;)

YUM!! YEAH YOU! By the time I stopped for dinner last night it was a bowl of Special K, glad I had not seen this picture at that point.

Oh, how true!! I felt the same way last night, and I, unfortunately, did not use my lifelines and gave in to the pizza. Let me tell you, I did NOT feel better!

I went for a run before dinner and had promised grilled pork chops when I returned. I did NOT feel like cooking after my run, I just wanted to lay in the floor, stretch and enjoy the cool breeze from the fan.

That’s when I saw YOUR tweet(about not wanting too) and then another(about just doing it anyway). I got up and cooked dinner instead of not.

    So, thank you!

Awesome! That looks DELICIOUS! My lifeline is some frozen french fries and veggie burgers. Ready in a flash without me having to actually cook. Much healthier than traditional takeout, and cheaper!

Thanks for the reminder. I just love how Twitter and Facebook give us instant motivation when we REALLY need some! The dinner looks yummy too! So much healthier than greasy pizza!

This is how I get myself to run sometimes too…I post about how far I need to run that day, ’cause inevitably someone will comment later “Did you do it?” and I really, really want to be able to type “Yes.”

I wish I had read this an hour ago. I was feeling the same way, so I did order the pizza. Oh well.

I had mom over for dinner and she said do you want to order a pizza? and I said Yes! I haven’t had take out in a looong time so I am okay with it but I wish I came online earlier and said no. There’s always tomorrow!

I am SO happy to see this post! I wasn’t kidding when I said to make the chicken then inspire me to make the chicken. It worked all around! I’m totally making it over the weekend, and the ingredients are already purchased!

Thanks for taking time to inspire me!
