For The Next Time You Crave Soda….

17 Comments 1974 views

ewwwwe. I know it’s dramatic but it sure paints a mental picture!

I’m not completely anti-soda. Hey, everything in moderation, right? But I know many–*cough* THE HUSBAND–who drink it continuously all day, every day.

Promise me you will swap out just one soda a day (yes even you diet drinkers) for water this week. Just one. Deal?

it’s so true…but man alive that’s gross. I wonder, oftentimes, what the diet soda is sucking out of my body. I know it can’t be good.

That is SO gross. I’ll have to show this to the hubby next time he cracks open a Mt. Dew. I only drink diet, but I know its still not good for me. Maybe this image will help lower my daily intake :)

I cut out soda for months (I just drank diet) and now I may have 1 or 2 a week. I knew it was bad when I was getting up to 3-4 cans of diet coke a day. Now I’ll think of that visual when I get the urge!!

    nasty.

If I ever want to induce vomiting, I’ll know what to watch! BLEH! (Somehow without trying, we cut out soda.)

Oh good lord. This was the wrong thing to watch in the morning – but at least it’s accurate. I had a bad soda habit in college – but since I have ‘detoxed’ I feel so much better and less bloated!

In my 20s I was a huge Diet Coke addict, we are talking 2-3 cans a day! When my afternoons were sluggish and let’s just face it I was bored, I would look forward to sipping on one to keep me going. Just another form of mindless “eating.”

…Then I became a dentist. Even though it has no sugar, diet sodas are extremely acidic. My sipping all day took a toll, leading to acid erosion and pitting of my back teeth (let alone what it did to my body). For years I gave it up altogether, but now just drink it in moderation as a treat. Soda really is bad us in a multitude of ways.

    I couldn’t even watch!

Thankfully, diet soda never enticed me. Now that I am calorie conscious, it’s not even on the radar. :) Wine? Now that’s another story. lol

I do enjoy 1-2 cans a week of diet soda. The way I see it is that I’ve evolved from a treat being a few too many cookies to a can of Diet Coke to knock out my sweet tooth. Let’s talk about the sludge that unhealthy fats leave in our arteries. You are right, Roni…everything in moderation!

Oh, I love it! It is insanely disgusting, but soda is so bad for you. Not only is it loaded with sugar, but it’s so full of chemical crap! Thanks for sharing Roni.

Ewww! I used to be a daily diet soda girl, but then read a while back about the link between diet soda and strokes. I quit cold turkey because it scared me. Surprisingly it wasn’t really that bad to quit. If I want something fizzy, I have grapefruit perrier. I can honestly say sometimes I’d love a diet coke, but I haven’t succumbed…yet….

I have cut soda out of my diet and it has been helpful in weight loss. I figure why drink perfectly good calories? I would rather have food.

Gross. I used to have a horrible diet coke habit; at least 6 (yes, 6!) a day. I was a cocktail waitress and drank nothing but diet coke. A few years ago, my hubs and I gave up diet coke for Lent. He has never had another diet coke since but will have the occasional sprite (gag). I used to drink a diet coke now and again but have since given it up entirely. A friend of mine is diabetic. Her sugar spikes as much with a diet coke as a regular coke and there’s no sugar in diet coke. I also don’t drink juices either. I am a water and unsweet tea kinda girl. I have yet to break my coffee and sugar free creamer habit (one a day M – F, none on the weekends). Now about the glass of wine next to me… It’s red so it’s good for my heart, right??? :)

That commercial was so gross!!! I tend to buy seltzer in cans, and when I need that soda fix, I grab one. Which is ironic since a few years ago I HATED seltzer and mineral water!!
