One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

Best. Compliment. Ever.

30 Comments 3774 views

This weekend, while all dressed up at the Holiday Party I keep talking about (can you tell I rarely go out anymore,) The Husband gave me the best compliment ever.

It wasn’t that I looked beautiful or skinny. It wasn’t about my new dress (which I bought especially for the party. This one to be exact.) He didn’t notice my new shoes or the dangly earrings I dug out of my jewelry box. Nope, his compliment had nothing to do with my physical appearance at all. He simply leaned over and whispered in my ear,

“When did you get so confident?”

He may not have meant it as a compliment, but it made me blush then and it’s bringing a tear to my eye now. As I said in my Exposed post, it’s always been confidence I wanted.

P.S. Everyone is asking for a photo and unfortunately we didn’t take ONE PICTURE. I’m kind of mad at myself for that. In a way I took the day off and that meant no camera.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. Confidence: The under-rated million-dollar ingredient to being the best you can be!

I think it was even better than a compliment – it was him, seeing you. Really seeing you. That’s way better.

Awwwwwwww, that’s fantastic!! I totally agree, best compliment ever!! It’s what we really want, after all is said and done! I am so happy for you.

And I lOVED the dress!! Pictures of you in it, please!

Too bad about no pictures! We work-at-home gals need to document those dress-up moments as they are few and far between :)

Sometimes a phrase said to you can really make such a difference. Confidence is so important to so many aspects of our lives. We can all tell you how awesome you are but realizing it your self is the gift. Someone once took the time to tell me that it would be fine and that I would get back on track and it has really helped me. That someone was you,so a special thanks to you for having the confidence to get this website going, and sharing with us.

What an awesome compliment! My husband has always said he doesnt care what I look like…he just wants me to have more confidence. Since losing some weight, he says he can tell a new confidence in me and I can see it in myself…its a great feeling!

Awwwww… I love that! I love you are confident and that he noticed. That truly IS the best compliment ever!

I think we all want (and need) confidence, especially when we’ve dealt with weight issues. I’ve lost 100lbs and I am STILL struggling with confidence almost every day. I hope one day someone will whisper that to me! <3

Love it. And relate. It goes waaaaay beyond the number on the scale or the number on the dress label. I’m glad you have a husband who appreciates your confidence. There’s nothing better!!

    Very nice compliment.

    December 21, 2011

That is the best compliment ever because it is about you on the inside. The other day i was talking to my husband about making more time for working out I’m not feeling like my “new” self and i like her better. He said me too and when i said not sure what you mean he said you have more confidence. Strangely i knew exactly what that meant and took it as the compliment that he intended it to be.

Well now I wanna cry. That is the COOLEST compliment ever. And truly heart melting for any reformed but always struggling self-loather. GO GIRL!
