Fudge Stripe Cooo-kees

About 10 years ago I discovered Odd Todd and his animation "A Day in the Life." Ever since then the husband and I joke about "Fudge Stripe Cookies." You have to watch the animation so you can hear the way he says it….

Click here to check it out. Warning: Some bad language. Not overkill, but present.

Anyway, for some stupid reason I bought a package of these cookies and now I find myself stealing one here and there from the pantry. Not a big deal, I just need to stop buying things "for the Little Guy and the Husband" when I really know they are for me.

ANYWAY.

I was hoping to have a podcast and a new recipe up today, but I just couldn’t do it. This post may shed some light on why.

I also shared another Lunch Box idea and Baby Food Adventure on GreenLiteBites.

Other than that my day was spent feeding and playing with a 6 month old, picking up my race bib for this weekend race (I’m running a 6 mile leg in the Baltimore Marathon,) helping a 1st grader with his homework, and taking my boys for a walk.

I was about to say it was a pretty uneventful day, but that’s just ridiculous. I did a lot. I just have even more to do. ;)

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

You are a busy lady! I always found that since I am home during the day with my boys I am busier than I ever was in the office and it is so much more fulfilling. Thanks for all that you do for us readers, it is appreciated.

Good luck at your marathon. My brother is going to Lausanne in Switzerland at the end of this month for a full marathon. He’s a bit stressed, this being his first marathon + his knee is hurting a bit so he stopped training this week.

I do the same thing Roni, with those bags of baby oreos…no one in my family asks me to buy them, but I occassionally do and I know they are for me! :0)

    Love the fudge stripes though!!

And I love the new picture of you and the boys sitting on the steps, so cute!!!

At the WW meeting last night, the leader spoke about cleaning out the cupboard, fridge, etc. She said one thing she used to do was buy ‘junk’ food for her kids. Eventually she transitioned to a system of if the kids want it, they need to put it on the grocery list on the fridge. She said the kids never did write the junk on the list.

I’m so guilty of buying or baking sweets “for the husband.” Yeah right, they’re not for the husband at all. Sometimes he never even knows I bought them. Plus, I have the problem of just taking one every now and then, but it really adds up.

Thanks for the video. It mad me laugh. Lucky for me, my boyfriend has a sweet tooth, and he usually devours the food I buy for ‘him’ (when I initally really bought it for myself). Also, good luck with your race!

Life is so busy when your kids are little and need so much attention. Your post brings back so many memories for me of when my kids were young.

I would have loved to have had a blog then as a place to vent, get support and interact with other adults. Does having your blogs allow you to still feel connected to life outside of home?

It does help but I crave face to face time too.
