Those who have been reading my sites for some time know how much I credit this blog for my weight loss success, but they also know it’s so much more than that now. In the last 7 years my health, my body, my career and my life have changed for the better. I’ve made REAL, true, amazing friends. I’ve been presented opportunities I never knew existed. I get a much needed and appreciated daily creative outlet. And I get to help people. I don’t know what else to say except, blogging absolutely ROCKS!
If you didn’t know, BlogToLose is a weight loss blogging community. The idea behind the site was to give people a safe place to blog where they could easily find like-minded, supportive people. I’m happy to say it’s a success (over 5,000 members!) I can no longer manage it myself. I need help (<–you have no idea how hard that is for me to say.) I’ve spent the last few weeks sifting through volunteer emails and have announced our first volunteer team, The Official BlogToLose Welcome Committee. In the coming weeks I’ll be working with additional volunteers to help on the forums and organize regular chats.
I’ve also announced the dates for the 3rd annual FitBloggin’12 conference today. I’m going to be honest. I went back and forth on whether another conference would actually happen. It’s a lot of work, it’s stressful, and it forces me out of my comfort zone, but when I stepped back the only reasons I could come up with NOT to do it were fear-based. So I faced my fears head on, took a deep breath, and signed the contract with the hotel anyway.
It was quite a big day for this self-employed blogger! I’m off to chill with the husband and watch The Mentalist. :)
