I took my first BodyPump class at my new gym, and it was AWESOME! Seriously the fastest, funnest strength based class I’ve taken in a long time.

The instructor was phenomenal as well. She was motivating without being annoying–if you know what I mean. At one point she blurted out…

The only way to get stronger is by pushing yourself when you don’t want to.

It really resonated with me.

How can we make progress if we don’t challenge ourselves? It reminds me of the quote…

“If you keep on doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep on getting what you’ve always got.”

Besides working out, I was pretty productive today. I made and photo documented my adventure making baby food and shared some fun pictures of Little Guy on Poop Butterflies.

    I started BodyPump about a month ago and LOVE it! This post motivates me to add a little more weight to my bar next week. I had been doing all cardio and decided I needed to add strength training. Now I go BodyPump twice a week, run/walk twice a week and yoga once a week. I like the variety and feel better overall.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE Body Pump!! My favorite Les Mills class..by far! I have been taking it for 7 years and it has, truly, transformed my body! It is amazing what a fairly low amount of weight paired with CRAZY repititions can do for you! A couple of my fave quotes from 1 of my favorite Pump instructors: “Go Heavy! You are stronger than you think you are!”, “Check yourself out in the mirror…..Look at all that SEXY!!”…and last, but certainly NOT least…while encouraging strong push ups in the shoulder track….”Start on your toes….Knees are an option….QUITTING IS NOT!”

    Pump is fun! I’ve been taking it for about 3 years now. Most of the Les Mills classes are great especially Body Attack!

    I am switching gyms next month, and BodyPump is what I will miss most when I am at my new gym. Enjoy it! I like that it is the same routine with the same songs for a few weeks so you can measure your improvement easier.

    Thanks for this one! I did a half hour on the treadmill yesterday and then had to stop to feed the kids lunch. I was gonna be done then since we were leaving soon, but I remembered your post and did another half hour and I really PUSHED MYSELF!!! It felt amazing when I was done! So again, thanks for the motivation :)

    It’s great to try something new as it gets us all excited about exercising again! Good for you Roni!

    I am in Physical Therapy right now and I am learning lots of new stretches and exercised to make my core stronger. Just a few little new tricks can make a huge difference!
