One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

Note to Self…

11 Comments 1904 views

Remember today when you *think* you shouldn’t “waste” time on yourself.

You debated about it all night. Should you take the time to run while Little Guy is in school? How can you justify it with so many things on the to-do?

Well, what happened? After the run you were happy and MOTIVATED. You completely avoided the procrastinating FUNK that happens when you are overwhelmed by completing 2 writing assignments, posting on GreenLiteBites, and sharing fun stuff on Baby’s First Year (HOW have you not spent more time on Etsy??). Then you were able to devote time to the kids, make dinner, cook up a batch of baby food and take both boys to soccer practice ALONE while the husband was out of town on business.

See… Taking care of you IS important and allows you to take care of everything else.

Just remember that.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

    Soo true!

So true!! I often debate whether I should take the time to work out or do one of the million urgent things on the to-do list. I always feel better when the workout wins plus the other stuff always gets done eventually.

Yes! It’s so much easier to put everyone else’s needs ahead of our own. This is a great reminder that what we do for ourselves makes life better for everyone. If momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy!

I love your insightful posts, Roni, that’s why I read your blog every single day. I love that it’s not just a blog about the latest way to lose weight, but a real life of a real mom and wife that I can relate to. I am filing away the thoughts you put forth on this post along with the post you wrote the other day about the “15 minutes”. I’m sure you get overwhelmed sometimes with your various sites, but you have to know how many people are counting on that little inspiration every day! (By the way, I’m trying to make it a point to click on your site ads, I hope every little bit helps :)

Oh, one other thing…I saw this anonymous quote today on another blog……. “Being overweight is hard. Losing weight is hard. Choose your hard.” I LOVE THAT.

Spot on! We just bought a jogging stroller for Elliott, I cannot wait to get out with him. He loves being outside and it will give me an opportunity to exercise while being with him.

Taking care of me? That is something I really need to try to do. I don’t. I worry and do more for everyone else.
