One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

Another Busy on Plan Day!

This marks Day 4 of tracking and I feel great! It’s exactly what I needed to get out my mindless munching funk. I’ve been having fun cooking and comparing old/new weight watchers points. It’s pretty interesting. I *think* my PointPlus goal is 29 but I’m not sure. My old points target is 23 plus 2 for each nursing session so that totals 27.

Food Notes WWP WWPP
Sweet Sausage and Vegetables over Bulgur with sugar snap peas instead of green beans. Breakfast for dinner and now dinner for breakfast. I’m a rule breaker. ;) 9 11
McDs Sothwest grilled salad no dressing, a few fries and a cone Guess who’s idea this was. 9 11
Lite Flavored Yogurt cup Quick snack before dinner 2 2
5 oz 1 pork chop, pureed butternut squash, mixed veggies and 1/2 of a baked potato Best Dinner ever! 7 8
grapes just cause. :) 1 0
Total: 28 32
nada – took a break. :)

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Just an FYI…on Points Plus you would get 29 daily points and an additional 14 Points+ if you are exclusively nursing. If you are supplementing with formula and once they start solids then you drop it down to 7 points+.

My baby is two months old and I am exclusively nursing, but man…43 points a day is a TON!

Yea, I don’t think I’d lose at this point with that many points. Of course I don’t know but I’m not going to eat just to fill points. Is it working for you?

I am a Lifetime member…total loss of just over 110 lbs. Then I got pregnant, so I am back loosing the rest of my baby weight. I started back the beginning of the month and have lost 6 lbs so far. I’ve got a good amount to loose yet, but slow and steady wins the race.

I don’t think I have ever used the 43 points…it’s just so many!

Tracking always gets me out of my rutt. I think I might track calories maybe once a month. I’ve been tracking what I eat daily but don’t necessarily track calories everyday. Really helps me to see Everything going into your mouth.

I love how you eat dinner for breakfast. I thought I was the only one! Also, I did my take on your sweet sausage….my husband loved it. It’s one of our new favorite meals.

Good job with the tracking. It is the easiest thing I do with WW. Exercise is the hardest. I am the queen of excuses and of playing the “wait until I get this or that accomplished” game. :( I believe WW gives us all too many points. The daily 29 are fine but adding free fruit to that and the extra 49 weekly points would be a gain for me. I kind of hope they have plans to change the plan soon but you never know. Keep up the good work.

So I know that you no longer go to WW meetings. But I have a question because I am bound and determined to finally lose this weight that I gained with my son (he was born in 2006). I have 50 lbs to go (and I did it once after DD (in 2004-2005), but this time has been so much harder). I found my old WW material and get this – journal – and I’m thinking about going through it and just eating what I ate back then. But that’s on the old points thing – and I do use the WW app (well, I’m paying for a subscription), but it’s the new plan. What do you think? And I think that you posted about this a while ago, but I’m too brain dead at the moment. Thanks!

And yes, anyone under 200 lbs has a PP value of 29 <—that's the crazy part to me. You and I (who do not weigh the same at all) eat the same # of points.
