I weighed in yesterday. Considering I was on vacation last week, I wasn’t expecting much. I went in with NO expectations.

To my surprise…

I was down nearly a half of pound!

Notice the excitement “in my voice.”

Part of me wants to be sarcastic about it, but I won’t let myself. I’m owning those .4 lbs. I’ve been making smart choices, working out, and having fun. My weight loss may have slowed down (click here to see my progress to date) but I’m also approaching it in a very realistic, long term way. I wouldn’t mind eating the way I’ve been eating for the rest of my life and that’s key for me.

Slow and steady wins the race, and I plan on crossing that finish line!

No food journal for yesterday, I was on the road and didn’t keep in in real time. It was pretty similar to yesterday’s, I snacked my way through a road trip. The boys and I are spending time with Grandma before school starts in a few weeks. :)

  1. I hope slow and steady wins the race. I’ve been focusing on that more and more lately. I made some big changes FAST initially but I know it’s not sustainable so I’m focusing more and more on healthy living every day. Smaller changes in more consistent doses.

Sidenote: There’s a CafePress ad in your sidebar with a “Too Much Sexy Makes Your Eyes Go Screwy” eye chart. My grandma has that EXACT eye chart in real life. I think she’s had it 30 years.

Slow steady is best! You look fantastic and feel fantastic and the weight will come off. To be down at all after vacation is AWESOME! Go Roni! Enjoy Grandma’s!

A loss is a loss! You’re doing great, especially when you look back to where you started. Thank you for always keeping it real and always being an inspiration!

  4. Congrats on the loss (sincerely) – I’ve been working on making the best choices possible and then accepting what the scale says but not living by it. Note I said, “working on it” – haven’t mastered that yet! You are an inspiration, once again, in that regard! :)

Way to go Roni. The way I see it, any loss, no matter how small is a WIN! Slow and steady WILL win for the long term. Enjoy your time with Grandma!!!

Any loss is good. Any weight that’s not coming back is good. You can’t have huge numbers all week, not to mention that many people put on weight a lot when in a vacation. I feel you did amazing and that you shouldn’t feel bad about it. Have a great weekend and chin up :)

Every loss counts. And you lost weight while on vacation?? Now that would be an accomplishment for me. I think you’ve found the ticket when you say you can see yourself eating this way for the rest of your life. I need to find that place.

I finally learned that slow and steady is the way to go. Every tenth of a pound is a move in the right direction. I’m in the homestretch now. I’ll meet you in the winners circle.
