One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

NOTES TO SELF...

Note to Self…

You are caught in the cycle again–waking up and thinking today is “the day.”

DAMN IT! When will you learn? There is no “day!” Everyday is “the day.”

Now go to bed. You’re stressed. Once you make it through this crazy weekend you can get back to basics, focus on a new schedule, and find your groove. You need to make time for your runs. Right now everyone’s being taken care of except you.

Oh and this doesn’t mean we are “starting on Monday” so don’t even think about it.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

We all need to hear that sometimes. You’re right – we’re aren’t starting on Monday. I really think they should just eliminate Monday for that reason.

I love this! I just blogged last week about how I have kicked the “Monday mentality” out the door. Thank you Roni for starting blogtolose. It has helped me so much and I am only on my 8th day. I have vowed to blog everyday through my weight loss journey.

You are so right! Everyday IS “the day” and over time I am slowly learning that myself. I don’t have a “monday” anymore.. I made my “diet week” start on wednesday so my weigh in is on wednesday as well. It really changes everything, as crazy as that sounds. Keep up the confidence Roni, it’s really inspiring!

Hey Roni, just curious if you ever tried shiratake noodles and your take on them. They are zero calories (how can anything be zero calories)….my brother ordered some and likes them, so I did. He got them from something like kojac foods (?)……….said the angel hair is the most widely suggested to try…….anyway, I ordered some to sub in for pasta……we’ll see. What’s your take? (My bro saw this on dr.oz’s top 10 show)

Roni, I’m stuck in this cycle too… :-( I think when we’re pregnant, we let ourselves have more “treats” than we’d like to admit-at least I did- and then we need to break those habits all over again. It sucks… but I now you’ll get back in your groove!

I needed this today! Thank you for sharing your note to self. I have been reminding myself of the airplane rule “Put your oxygen mask on first before you assist others”, I feel like the masks are down and I’m running around helping everyone get their mask on while I’m running out of air!

I totally was thinking that this morning. When I get sick I seem to find all sorts of excuses to eat poorly and then after I get over it I don’t feel like exercising…I actually said, “oh i’ll get back on it Monday”…Not cool Brandi. Not cool.

    Starting NOW! Thanks Roni!

I love this note, every once in a while we need to write down exactly what we know is best. The funny thing is, you(we) know these things – – but now that its on paper, its real.

    I can’t really explain – – but I can certainly relate :) you’re doing great.

I’ve used those words millions of times as well. Thanks for the reminder to stop and just do it now and stop waiting for another day.

    Good Lord- this speaks VOLUMES!

“You need to make time for your runs. Right now everyone’s being taken care of except you. ”

In the beginning of my WW journey – before I started any sort of exercise, I was at a meeting where we talked about “moving”. Just get up & do something. At the end, the leader (love her for this) went around the room and asked how people intended to start. I can’t forget one response .. “with 2 feet on the floor”.

Seriously. How simple. “How will you start?” … “With 2 feet on the floor”.

    YES, take care of YOU!

I got so caught up in this “the day”-cycle that I totally freaked out over each food and got out of many healthy habits. It doesn’t end, not even when you already developed all the routines, does it?

Here’s my advice: Get a day off and reward yourself for all the healthy things you do, and for all the encouragement you give us. Stop having a bad conscience or the feeling you have to do everything at once, it might destroy all the achievements you worked so hard for! This happened to me and I won’t watch this happen to you. There’s nothing bad about rewarding yourself from time to time.

It seems like when we get overly tired we fall back to those old ways of thinking and coping with life.

Sounds like you are going to take control and not let it happen!

Wow, how accurate is this for so many of us? I’ve lost literally MONTHS waiting for The Day to stick.

For me, getting out of the Weight Watchers points mentality and just focusing on healthy foods is what did it. Don’t get me wrong – I love WW, but the idea that I had weekly points that were supposed to last me for the whole week messed up my head pretty often. If I binged and ate over 49 (or 35) points on one day, then I felt I had to wait ’til tomorrow to start over.

If my first Day had simply been my first day, I’d have been at goal weight years ago.

Lsmith – haven’t but you aren’t the first person to mention them to me. 0 Calories seems to be too good to be true but I’ll look into them.

Mine arrived yesterday and haven’t even had a chance to open the box. My brother said they were good and Hungry Girl makes an alfredo w/them. Looking forward to trying them to use on occasion when I need to ‘save’ spending so many calories.

That’s how I use veggie burgers. I save them for when I need to balance out my cals for the day. :)
