I hope to get back to regular videos after the conference. Especially the podcasts. They will start back up in June. I promise! In the meantime I recorded this real quick…

So weigh in, yeah… it went ok. I updated my progress page.

Wait.. let me say that again….

Weigh in was FANTASTIC! I’m down .6!!

Do I wish it was a little more? sure. Of course. But I’m OWNING that .6.

I’m all about owning all my accomplishments anymore. I try to never, ever use the word "only."

I ONLY lost .4.
I ONLY walked for 10 minutes today.
I ONLY have… whatever.

"Only" is my least favorite word in the dictionary. It allows people to sell themselves short–completely undermining what they actually have accomplished.

I say… OWN it don’t ONLY it.

Ok, that was a little cheesy. lol

Anyway, I got to go. TONS of FitBloggin stuff to attend to.

Oh! and the post I mentioned in the video was this one about how I’m a sap and cry when my kids smile. I also added the feed to my babble posts in the right side bar under my short about. I love that I have that outlet to blab about baby and parenting stuff. It’s totally fun.

    I can totally relate to this blog! I have an 9-week old at home and couldn’t imagine having the time and energy you are putting into the conference…you definitely need some down time after it is over to relax and enjoy the baby. I find myself wanting to do nothing but relax with my baby boy right now as I anticipate my 2 older kids getting out for the summer in less than 2 weeks…things are definitely going to be loud, noisy, and BUSY once that happens!

    I am also holding out on buying clothes that fit me now…worried it might make me too complacent and lose my motivation to get back into my clothes that will fit me once I lose the last 10-12 pounds. And of course I can totally relate to seeing my huge milk boobs in the mirror and this extra padding I’ve still got around my mid section. You are doing great and totally inspire me to dig in and lose this baby weight plus more! Hope the conference goes well :)

    I love the “No Only” rule!

    I try to use something similar when talking/thinking about OTHER people – the “No Just” rule. As in, “Why doesn’t she JUST stopping eating so much?”, “Why doesn’t she JUST workout a little more?”, “Why doesn’t she JUST cheer up instead of being so depressed?” If it were JUST that easy, then people wouldn’t need my silly little “solution.” If I’m using JUST, then there’s probably something more complicated going on that I’m JUST not acknowledging.

    Oh, pardon me, I think I let my soapbox into your comments. I’ll take that back now.

    I love this!!! I just got back from weigh in, and was thinking “I ONLY lost 1 lb” – I really expected more – but you are right, and I’m OWNING that lb!!!! Thanks Roni! You made my day better! BTW, Little Bean is adorable!!! Love the video.

    So today I decided to consolidate my weigh-in data from the past year and a half that I had spread out over three different tracking programs. I realized that even though (at the time) last Spring I felt like I was hardly losing anything because it only coming off in fractions of a pound per week, I was able to see the data graphed before my eyes with that steady downward slope. It was pretty awesome! Definitely don’t sell yourself short with “only” a small loss. It’s an important part of a much bigger picture! :)

    So nice to see a video again! Evan is of adorable, love when they coo and snuggle up to your neck :) I agree with the holding off on buying clothes, I’m doing the same for now until I lose the lbs that have creeped back over this winter. I refuse to give in and feel that buying new capris/shorts would just make it more tempting to do so. Good luck with the conference, hope life returns to “normal” (whatever that it is with two kids!) soon.

    You both look great! I have no idea how you do all that you do AND with a smile :) The “owning” instead of “only” might be a little sappy but it’s so true. We need to give ourselves credit for the things we do. So this week I’m going to “own” my lunch choices. I did have too many snacks in the evening but I totally kept control during the day which is a hard time for me (boredom eating at work is a struggle!). One step at a time! Thanks for all your encouraging words!!!

    I was just thinking yesterday morning (Thursday) how badly I missed your pregnancy update videos and then you did a video! I love these videos where you just talk about life or whatever. :)

    And did he fall asleep right there on your shoulder? How sweet is that?!?!!?

    You are doing WONDERFUL w/ the addition of Little Bean. I know–for me–going from 1 to 2 kids was rather difficult!! And mine were 4 years apart. My oldest was self sufficient to a point but man…it was organized chaos for quite some time!!! And I don’t blame you one bit wanting to do NOTHING after the conference!! You owe at least that much to yourself.

    It is 6:45 AM at my house…when I heard your phone ring, I thought it was mine and I was freaking out–who in the world is calling here so early?!?!?! HAHAHAHA!!!! :)

    And ONLY down .6 is awesome…look at your pattern. You will probably lose 3.6 next week!! :) Down is down–that is all that matters! You are doing great!

    Aww, little bean is so cute. Congrats on the weigh-in! You are losing weight at an amazing rate – over 2 pounds a week on average! That’s more than WW even says you’ll lose. I totally agree with the no “only” thing. I think you’ve posted a whole post about that before. I also like what the person said in the comments about not saying “Just” about someone else.

    Thanks, Roni! I really needed the “own it” talk. I think I could “only” myself to death sometimes. I started going WW the same week you did and due to lack of funds at the moment I am doing it on my own this time. It means sooooo much to me to have you right there with me. Thank you so much! You have no idea how much you are helping me. :)

    I totally do this all the time, say “I only…” You’re right, we should own it. We did it, we should respect the accomplishment. I’m constantly talking down my accomplishments when other people mention them to me. I get so uncomfortable. But I should say “thank you, I’m very proud of myself.” Thanks Roni.

    Roni, again CONGRATS on “Little Bean”. It amazes me every time I see him how much he looks like Ryan.
    Well, do to your return to WW & “owning” your weight, I finally got back on the scale. SCARY!!! To help me with “owning” my weight loss, i’m going to post my loss/weight (yes i’m being positive) everytime you post yours. I’m hoping this will help me to become accountable.
    I started @ 200 lbs, got down to 125 lbs & as of today 5/13/11 I weigh 155.8. :( Hopefully I will post a loss the next time you post your loss after your next weigh-in.

    I really appreciate your “Only” rant/pep talk. I know for myself I had a very hard time nurturing myself and recognizing my accomplishments, big or small. This led to my seeking love, nurturance and acceptance in food, eating disorder behavior and over exercising.

    I’ve been working very hard on loving and accepting myself for exactly what I can do on a daily basis as far as eating right and exercise goes. I have been unable to exercise for months now due to health problems and the weight is not coming off in spite of my efforts. I know that when the time is right I will be able to work out to my full potential and and in the interim to just love and accept myself w/ no judgment exactly as I am this moment.

    You have had a great focus here on the blog of accepting where you are since Little Bean’s arrival. I think it’s important to be reminded that we are only human and our best efforts should be enough for everything we do.

    I hope you enjoy your conference :)
