One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

The World Didn’t End!

No I’m not talking about the rapture. ;)

I disconnected today, staying away from twitter and facebook. You guys probably think I’m crazy but it was hard! Especially after FitBloggin when there’s just so much chatter going on.

Shutting down the social media let me knock a few things off the old to-do. I had a project deadline, I wrote my post for baby’s First Year and I cleaned up, ummm, about 3 weeks of laundry sprinkled all over bedroom-it was bad.

Right now I’m trying NOT to freak out about the over full inbox or the kabillion other things I need/want to do.

Repeat to self a few times… I will do what I can when I can.

That’s my version of serenity now. :)

In other news.. Tomorrow is weigh in and I’m freaking out a bit. Wondering if I’ll see a gain or loss after the conference. I did run around like crazy but I also ate a bit more junk than normal. We’ll see.

Food Notes
2 egg western omelet (onion, peppers, ham) no cheese One of my favorite breakfasts.
Larabar Planning a review of these. I really do like them.
Canned Lentil Soup and TOO many Ritz Crackers Frankly, I was angry at the husband and I kind of entered a weird mindless zone. Before I knew it half a sleeve of crackers were gone.
apple Totally craving something sweet and this cold apple hit the spot.
Pork chop with brown rice, butter beans and broccoli I’m hoping to get this one pot recipe up on GreenLiteBites. I wanted to do it tonight but I’m just too tired.
McDs Ice Cream cone Ok, this is becoming a family obsession. We love our McDs cones! It’s the husband’s fault. ;)
Canned mandarin oranges I was putting them in the Little Guys lunch and just finished the rest.
Dark Chocolate Raspberry Oatmeal I was kinda a hungry and wanted something indulgent. This totally hit the spot.

Nothing today. Took a break.

Better on the water and just took my vitamin BECAUSE of this journal! It reminded me. :)

Disclosure: Got free samples of Larabar at FitBloggin.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

I am obsessed with Larabars since trying them for the first time (I know, behind the times!) at Fitbloggin. Now I just can’t get enough. If only they weren’t so darn expensive…

I love Larabars! Sadly I have a hard time devoting that many points to them. =( I hope they gave you a variety of flavors because there are soo many good ones! My favorite is probably the Peanut Butter and Jelly!

Really enjoying your food journal. I love how you really look at why you ate what you ate and that’s important.

    Thanks for the inspiration. =)

    It’s always the man’s fault, right? Women, I’ll tell ya ¬¬ :P

I got to admit, the first thing that popped in my mind when I read the title was “She’s a little late reviewing the rapture thing” LOL

    I adore you.

I need to do that! I imagine it is hard. I just tried the Larabar at Costco’s, I was impressed with the ingredients and they tasted great too! :)

My favorite flavor Lara Bar is peanut butter cookie.. but I only like them right out of the freezer… I like that there is only 2 ingredients, and yet, i try to limit them because of the calorie/sugar content. (And by limit them i mean having 1 per day, as my treat to look forward to!)

We make our own Larabars! We just blend dates, some kind of nut (usually walnuts) and different flavours (lemon zest, juice and coconut or cinnamon, dried apples and flax, or cocoa powder and peanuts….), flatten them out, slice into bars, wrap in saran, pop in the fridge, and there you have them!!

Roni, I love all of the work you do. You are such an inspiration to me to strive to DO WHAT I CAN and not to let all the blips that come along make me “give up”. Slow and steady is leading me, day by day, to get a little bit smaller, a little bit fitter, and a heck of a lot more at peace with myself.

Thank you so much for sharing yourself and your life with us. xx

haha- I thought the same thing as Reinaldo. :)

I just wanted to say thank you for all your wonderful posts you do, it has really helped motivate me, I am not there yet and i am only maintaining my 5 lbs weight loss at the moment, but reading your posts do really help and i have a renewed motivation.

i am struggling with infertility at the moment due to PCOS, which from the sounds of it if I lose weight, eat healthy, and exercise my chances of being able to conceive sky rocket. I still struggle with my laziness though. I shove food into my mouth as comfort that I can’t have a baby-everything I’ve wanted. Anyways. sorry got off topic. Thank you so much for our posts! Even just telling me what you are eating and what you did for the day inspires me to live actively.

Can’t wait for the one pot recipe to go up on GreenLiteBites!

Ditto on the McD’s ice cream cone!

I almost didn’t click your tweet because of the title… thought it was a link to some over-due news story. :)

Great for you taking a day off, Roni. It was really weird not seeing all your tweets yesterday.

On Larabars, I just haven’t been able to make myself buy one yet. I saw that you’d been eating them, so they were totally on my grocery list, but at the store I realized why I’ve never bought them before. 240 calories each, ouch! I like bars as much as the next girl, but I don’t necessarily think of them as “meal replacement,” which is what a Larabar would have to be for me.

I have been gobbling up Clif’s Luna bars though. 180 calories, and it feels like a dessert. I use them for a bulky snack to get me through the morning, or the afternoon, or a long car ride.

They aren’t all that high. Most are right at 200. But you are right, they are higher then most since they are almost exclusively nuts and dates. I’m coming to terms with choosing higher cals stuff for more natural ingredients. Most of their bars have less then 5 things in them and some of my favorite have 3… dates, nuts, fruit. NOTHING ELSE. Love that.

I need to get my review up about them!

I am going to attempt a day off next week! It sounds like a little bit of HEAVEN! :)
