One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

Final Sensational Sunday Before FitBloggin!

Today started out gloriously! The baby woke up at 7AM (after 2 middle of the night feedings) and fell back asleep! The husband and the Little Guy were both sleeping too so I had a good 45 minutes all to myself. It was WONDERFUL.

I put on some music…

and brewed some cocoa.

Soon I was joined by Little Guy. We cracked open a can of fruit.

I try REALLY hard to always serve fruit with breakfast. Even if it’s something canned.

Little Guy had some cereal as well and I made myself a bowl of oatmeal topped with dried apricots, almonds and honey…

We then hung out for a bit. Interacting with the baby and getting him to smile. Here’s Little Guy is showing him all his LEGO toys.

It was so precious.

Soon it was time to get to work. I have 3 days to get all the last minute prep for the conference done. That’s sign printing, event orders, room set ups, volunteer organizing and swag bag stuffing.

Thankfully my friend and her son came to help. I don’t know WHAT we would have done without them.

What did Little Bean do why we worked our tails off?

How stinkin’ cute is HE! I mean seriously.

For lunch I ordered everyone pizza.

For "the girls" we got a thin crust with tons of veggies and "the boys" requested traditional pepperoni.

After about another 2 hours of bag stuffing I decided to take a cue from the baby and rest. I decided to treat myself to a little snack.

Then it was nap city…

I fell asleep for about an hour and so did Little Bean.

After that I stuffed a few more bags then made a quick dinner. Leftovers for Little Guy and some veggies, pita and hummus for me.

After the kids went to bed I treated myself to some banana soft-serve with a handful of cocoa almonds.

Right now my garage looks like this…

I’m about 90% done with the bags. I cannot believe how time consuming it’s been!

Tomorrow is going to be a CRAZY day. The Dishwasher repair guy is coming at 8am. I have an 11AM call with the hotel event planner. 1:15 is parent teacher meeting time at school. Somewhere in there I have to find my way to the printer. And all that with baby and 5 year old. It’s going to be and interesting day and an insane week!

I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Re: the pizzas – I don’t understand why women always have to eat healthy while men get to eat the crap. I noticed this the other day while I was at my graduation lunch. I was the ONLY woman on the deck of this place eating BBQ. Every single woman (including my mother) was eating a salad. Why can’t we have fun and eat what we want and not feel like crap? I will never understand this and I refuse to live my life on salad. Obviously, I know this isn’t the way all the time, but I notice it more times than not. Just an interesting observation.

Umm don’t think you meant this but I wanted the veggie pizza! It was awesomely good! If I would have eaten the pepperoni I would have felt like crap but not becuase I thought it was off limits.. it’s just too greasy for me. I don’t like it the way I used to.

LOL no, that’s not really what I meant. But hey, there are times where I actually want veggies on a pizza too! It just dawned on me that I usually see women eating healthy things (because they feel like they have to) while men are “allowed” to eat whatever they want.

Roni I just had to comment, just got home from a walk and it was hot, maybe not hot but humid andI was sweaty, I was craving something sweet…so whenever I have bananas that are over ripe I put them in the freezer to make banana bread, my DD’s favorite…so I thought about your banana soft serve…that stuff is freaking delicious…I hate to be careful not to lick the blades of the food processor!!…I just found my new summer treat…thank you for that one….
