One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

Challenge: Walk with me?

14 Comments 1655 views

I wanted to tell you guys about this earlier but the day got away from me. I had a little work to do this morning and then Little Bean and I took a nap…

Tomorrow he’s 4 weeks. Can you believe it? I can’t. (side note: click here for for more baby photos. I did a side by side of Little Guy and LIttle Bean)

I also can’t believe tomorrow is my second Weight Watchers weigh in. I’ve been keeping up with my food journal and it’s been fun! Totally helping with the mindless nibbles and keeping me honest. Exactly what it’s suppose to be doing. I haven’t been counting points but that’s a whole other story I’ll get into tomorrow. I want to see how my weigh in goes first.

Anyway, let me get back to the point of this post. I have posed a challenge on BlogToLose, the Let’s Walk! Challenge!

The idea is simple. Take at least a 10 minute walk a day for 1 week. It’s just a week and it’s just 10 minute but I truly believe this is how it starts. This is a great was to adopt healthy habits. It’s all about making small attainable goals that build confidence and sets momentum in the right direction.

And you better not be thinking you’ll start this challenge on Sunday. As I said in an older challenge post

My perfection gene would love it if we always started a challenge on Sunday and wrapped it up by Saturday BUT we are about breaking out of that mold here on BlogToLose. We no longer wait till Monday to live healthier. Right? We don’t "throw away" a day because we were tempted by an office donut. There is no more "I already… I might as well…" mindset anymore. We do what we can when we can. We forgive ourselves if we aren’t "perfect" and we move on. Weight loss happens over time one choice AT a time and the more we get that through our heads the better. I hope to help shed that perfection disease by mixing it up with these challenges.

I’ll be making the choice the find at least 10 minutes tomorrow and I hope you’ll join me. :)

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Good luck at your weigh in tomorrow, Roni! You’ve inspired me to walk on my lunch break today. :)

    I’ll walk with ya!

Nevermind I do walk to and from work several times a day (8 minute walk each way) but nevertheless, I could use some more conscious walking!

I walked the kids to school today, and then took the long way home. 37 minutes and 1.7 miles, before I even read this so I guess I’m in for the week!

It’s funny but the day you posted the challenge I was thinking about trying to get out an walk with my six year old daughter everyday! I’m proud to say we walked for 30 minutes on Tuesday and yesteday! Thanks for the great idea and good luck on your weigh in today!

Good luck on your weigh in tomorrow! I think the walk challenge is a great one. It’s a great way to clear your mind and enjoy being outside…. it soon turns into an hour. I clicked on the baby photos and wow, Evan and Ryan could pass as twins! So beautiful!

Roni I have been slacking in getting my grumpy but moving, so I will accept your challenge. Lately I’ve been getting my website sorted out with hosting adjustments, tonight is restoring content. Hopefully back up tomorrow. I will blog the challenge results there.

This sounds like a great challenge. Ten minutes a day is very doable!

Great Idea Roni! I love to walk and it is my first choice for exercise since I have bad knees and can’t jog/run. Not only is it good for the heart and body but also for the mind and soul. Love it!

Best Wishes for a good weigh in.

I’m in for the walking challenge. It’s my #1 exercise of choice now that my knees are sort of old and funky:) I really appreciate your blog. I read it al the time but rarely comment. Beautiful family too!

I’m in! I’ve been walking home from work this week. It’s 1 1/2 miles. And a few times my younger son who is 12 has walked from his after school art class to my office (about 2 blocks) to pick me up and we’ve walked home together. It’s been so nice! Especially when gas is $4.17 where I live!!

I inevitably fail challenges. I think my rebellious spirit gets the best of me. I did walk this morning though, 36 min, with my dog. Met my sister and her dog. Our new 3-day-a-week tradition. Jogged about 10 minutes of it.
