One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

The ABC’s of Me…

28 Comments 3751 views

A few weeks ago I made a mental note after seeing this comment on Healthy Tipping Point. I love fun memes! A few people have been emailing me about my 100 Random Things About Me post becuase I stated I didn’t want any more children. So I decided to update those and post these just for a fun change of pace.

So here goes… the ABC’s of me…

  1. Age: 34
  2. Bed size: Queen and now I now can’t believe the husband and I used to sleep in a single. Yes. a SINGLE!
  3. Chore you hate: Laundry, Laundry, LAUNDRY! ugh.
  4. Dogs: I would love, love, love a dog! The husband? not so much. I’m thinking I’ll wear him down in 5 or so years when the kids are older. ;)
  5. Essential start to your day: Breakfast with the Little Man.
  6. Favorite color: I would now have to say green. All because of GreenLiteBites.. it’s become an obsession!
  7. Gold or silver: Silver. I have always thought gold was gaudy.
  8. Height: I was 5′ 9” but I think I’m shrinking. I’m just a tad over 5′ 8” now.
  9. Instruments that you can play: I fiddled with the piano when I was a kid but I play no instruments and this makes me sad. My Dad’s side of the family are all musicians.
  10. Job title: Healthy Living Blogger. Crazy to say that but it’s true. Although I normally describe myself as a Web Publisher. More people "get" that.
  11. Kids: 1 – 5 year old boy and another on the way! Crazy to say that too!
  12. Live: Maryland. I never thought it would become "home" but it really has.
  13. Mom’s name: Gerri
  14. Nicknames: Roni, Ron, V, Mom
  15. Overnight hospital stays: Childbirth is all I can remember.
  16. Pet peeve: People who don’t get off the phone when interacting in person with another human being–Like checking out at the grocery store. Ugh.. that bugs me!
  17. Quote from a movie: Just one? I can’t do it. How about "Stephen is my Name!" -Braveheart or "We ain’t found shit!" – Spaceballs or "You’re so money and you don’t even know it!" -Swingers or "I wouldn’t say I’ve been *missing* it, Bob." – Office Space Oh boy I can go on and on.. those were the first few to pop in my head.
  18. Righty or lefty: Righty.
  19. Sibling: One brother who I have no relationship with whatsoever. It’s a long, sad story I don’t like to think about.
  20. Time you wake up: 7ish The Little Guy has me trained well.
  21. Underwear: Ummm yes. Seriously.. who doesn’t?
  22. Vegetables you dislike: Hmmm I have to think about this. I’m trying to learn how to like artichokes but I don’t dislike them. Geesh.. I can’t think of one. I really try to have an open mind when it comes to vegetables.
  23. What makes you run late: Nothing MAKES me, I just run late. I mean the Little Man DOES slow me down but I could simply leave earlier but I don’t. It’s getting really bad.
  24. X-rays: Ohh tons! I had pneumonia quite a few times as a kid not to mention my trips to the dentist.
  25. Yummy food you make: I think everything I make is yummy. The husband may not agree but oh well. ;)
  26. Zoo favorite animal: All the big cats! I’ve always had an obsession with cats.

If you blog have fun with this and leave me a link in the comments so I can check out yours.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

As for your D, I was petting our goldendoodle last night and was thinking about what an amazing addition she was to our family. Walking her keeps you exercising and the unconditional love is amazing. When the baby gets a little older, push for it!

Loved reading yours! I posted mine in the beginning of March…..

Like you, I also have one brother who I don’t have much of a relationship with, which also makes me sad. Glad to know I am not alone.

When I got married (30 years ago!) we moved to China and I had to scrub our clothes on a scrub board for 2 hours every night! As I traveled all over Southeast Asia, I noticed that the women were doing laundry outside in streams and rivers all day long. I’m so grateful for that experience because for me, doing laundry with a washer and dryer has never bothered me since – even with 4 kids!!

Very cool. I’m going to get this done next week!

I also used to be 5’9″. It always annoys me when the height thingy at the Science Center tells me I’m not anymore. : )
