My More-Pictures-Than-Words Sensational Sunday

16 Comments 2133 views

I know I say this a lot on Sunday’s but seriously… best day ever! I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves….

As always we hit the day running organizing the laundry. Although as you can see Little Man didn’t have as much fun with it as last week…

He was instead preoccpied with legos. More on that later.

Once the laundry was started we headed downstairs for breakfast. I bought a bag of Blood Oranges and Little Guy is loving them.

I used one in a new breakfast idea using Quinoa. Breakfast Quinoa with Citrus and Kiwi

Breakfast Quinoa with Citrus and Kiwi

Oh! Did I tell you I decided to prance my pregnant belly around the house this morning.

It was freeing. :)

While I made breakfast the boys played their new obsession.

Of course I wasn’t getting them on board with the Quinoa, so I made them scrambled eggs, bacon and toast.

After cleanup and showers I was already hungry or at least looking for a snack and decided on an old favorite of mine, a chilled can of green beans with a squirt of Italian dressing.

It’s weird. I know. But I love it!

Once we finished our snacks, Little Guy and I went out to plant a raspberry bush.

I’ve been wanting to have some sort of berries in the yard forever. I’m hoping these take.

We then turned our attention to the monthly calender. Little Man, writes in the numbers now. It’s becoming a bit of tradition.

Then he draws pictures for any events we have scheduled. This week he has lots of stuff going on at school including picture day, inside out day, crazy sock day (and my friends birthday,) and finally pajama day. All in that order. :)

Once finished he turned his attention to the iPad. I swear, this thing is becoming an obsession. He’d rather play games/watch shows on it then the TV.

While he played I folded and folded and folded.

What did the cat do?

Soon it was lunch time. The husband convinced me to hit McD’s on the way to the Driving Range. I stuck with my default, Soutwestern Grilled Salad and the family shared a large fry.

We were having such a good time we decided to end with some ice cream. Little Guy and I shared a hot fudge sundae and the husband had a cone. He’s going to kill me but I love this picture.

Then it was off to the driving range for a bit of putt putt…

and a bucket of balls.

Little Guys is getting pretty good!

They are so stinkin’ cute! I can’t belive we are going to actually be adding another Little Man soon.

I’m getting real excited. Can you tell?

On the way home we hit the grocery store for some supplies. I grabbed one of my new grocery store habits…

Normally I get a Naked but decided to try Odwalla this time. Pretty tasty! Even the 5 year old liked it.

When we got home the husband helped me wrap up the laundry while I made dinner and put the dishes away.

I also made Little Man’s lunch.

I get the School Lunch question a lot so I thought I’d snap a pic.

Where’s the cat 6 hours later? Yup, you guessed it…

Dinner was pretty hands off. I just threw some chicken legs, potatoes and asparagus in the oven.

The boys devoured it.

The day ended with some strawberries and angel food while playing with our LEGO Mini Figures.

Our family is quite LEGO obsessed at the moment. :)

I wrote this while watcing the Oscars and now I’m ready to completely crash. Hope you had a great weekend!

I always wonder how in the world you manage to pack your Sundays with so much stuff. What time do you get up?

That bento photo sent me on an internet trip through many interesting sites and resources. Would you mind photographing Ryan’s bento lunches more often? I’m sure many of us would find it helpful. Maybe make it a recurring feature on GreenLiteBites?

Thanks :) I always love your Sunday posts. Makes me feel like you’re including us in your life, so cozy :)

Sonia – It’s not when I get up… it’s when HE gets up! LOL But in seriousness…. we start most days at 7ish.

Rina – That’s a fun idea but it would get boring… his bentos look pretty similar from day to day. I’ll see what I can do though.. maybe I can make a GreenLiteBites/schoolLunch stream. :)

What a seriously great weekend! :) While I’ve never tried it – I think cold canned beans and italian sound delightful, not weird! :)Also – I love that the Fitbloggin Thriv shirt is on the top of the one pile. Honest on my life – those are THE GREATEST shirts I’ve ever owned! Thriv just had a discount code the other day and I ordered over $100 worth of their product! :)

I know! I wear mine weekly. Trying to get them to sponsor again but they seem uninterested. :(

I love that you get the little guy involved in the calendar. Teaching him to be organized from an early age is HUGE.

Also I wish I was as good at golf as he is. I want to play but just can’t hit the darn thing.

Every Sunday morning, I think of taking my camera with me to follow your great example of photos to document the day but I always forget. Not a bad thing because yesterday I mostly cleaned my house. I’m beginning to think you can’t be a blogger and have a home with everything in order. LOL!

Blood oranges? Never even heard of them will have to google them to learn more about them. Very interesting fruit!

You are going to LOVE those raspberries in the spring! Make sure you cage them – the birds devoured ALL mine the first year – they barely have time to get sweet before the yard critters take all my loot!

Love all the pictures! I have to ask about the lunch box, do all those containers have their own lids? And really will your son eat peppers? That’s awesome! You’ve done a great job with him.
