One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

POOPBUTTERFLIES

In my world no one cares if they like running skirts.

The inspiration for series came last year while I was running in the Pittsburgh Half Marathon. I decided to go music-less and take in the sights and sounds while running. A few miles in, I overheard a conversation behind me. There were two women making fun of another group of woman in front of us that were wearing running skirts.

They were petty. They were mean. They were being ridiculous.

Who cares what someone else decides to wear during a race or any other time for that matter?

I immediately thought of the Dr. Seuss quote,

“In my world, everyone’s a pony and they all eat rainbows-and poop butterflies.”

A seeds was planted. Click here see all the “In My World” random thoughts.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

I LOVE the name of this blog. My kids say it quite often, but they say, “My unicorn eats rainbows and poops butterflies”. I just asked them, they got it from Horton Hears A Who, the movie.

    I LOVE THAT PHOTO.
I was running around in my overtheknee socks this morning and they too made me grin.

LOVE the picture ….and the story behind it is why I worry about running in actual races…I feel like everyone looks at me and sees a non-runner faking it…edging into territory I don’t belong…thank roni, for reminding me you and people like you are out there cheering EVERYONE on!!

Love this idea!! There is so much negativity and just plain mean-spiritedness out there on the net, on t.v., etc these days. It is so oppressive. This site is like a breath of fresh air and a happy reminder that the positive, kind people are out there, too.

    Thanks!

Well, when weather allows. And I have several pairs of pants and capris with skirts attached!

I have several exercise skirts. One for running which I don’t wear often. My FAVE is my bicycling skirt. Why can’t I feel pretty when I am exercising?

I think some people need to put others down to feel better about themselves.

My friend has one of those green skirts from that website. She and her whole group of LLS runners wears those sparkly green ones when they run in marathons. Those women that were talking smack were just jealous and wish they had one! :D

Cute new site! I wore a running skirt in 2 half marathons I ran last year! I loved it :) I’ve been feeling too “big” to wear it to walk now that I’m preggo (12 weeks behind you!) but maybe you’ve inspired me to put it on for my walk this afternoon on this beautiful 80 degree Southern CA afternoon!

I love everything about this site. Now I want to go out and buy a running skirt… but I won’t… yet!

P.S. When I tried to add your site to my google reader it couldn’t be found. Is it me?
