SO sorry for my lack of post yesterday. As I mention in the video, I’ve been feeling a bit off. Pregnancy, weight gain, snow days, too much work not enough time, it’s all been building up but honestly, recording this podcast helped. A lot. :)

Topics this week include…

  • 3 Meals a Day vs Grazing
  • How to get back to the mindset of eating healthy after pregnancy?
  • Getting out of the "I might as well" cycle.
  • How do I organize my time an my life?

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

    Hey Roni,
I guess you answered Kathleen twice… your post from 2010 answers the exact same question ; ))
I think this means you are really really pregnant now!
anyway, i love the question because i’m always wondering how do you get it all done.
And I have to add one thing, you (appear to) love what you do, and that makes a huge difference.
    Thanx!

OMG It IS the same question!! I must not have marked it as “answered” Seriously, I’m losing my mind. That make me answering that question even more hysterical. LOL

I love the point about “non-negotiables” and this lines up with a similar process that I have come to. Here’s another way to look at it… If your life is so unmanageable that you cannot take a few hours a week to purchase food and exercise your body then the problem is not the demands of healthy living. Simply put, if you cannot maintain these non-negotiables then you need to rethink your life. Something will have to go because you are asking too much of yourself. This is a great way to assess where you are spending your time with life, family, career.

I’m trying really hard to get that place of “What I can, when I can”, but it’s hard. I feel like as a SAHM, the house is my job. The funny thing is, my husband doesn’t care, and says as much. It’s just something that I put on myself.

That’s something for me to work on…

    Hi Roni,

The podcast link and the podcast on iTunes is actually last week’s podcast (#50). They’re both labelled as #51 but they’re not. I love listening to you on my ipod (during my walk) so I’d love it if you could fix this. Thank you!!

I love your advice about the “might as well” cycle. I find that its not as much a mentality for me as it is a taste thing – I had something fatty delicious and salty for lunch and suddenly my body is on a craving rampage for more salty fatty delicious and the healthy salad (which looked equally delicious and crave-able yesterday) seems SO LAME compared to more salty fatty delicious…. my body likes to lead my mind to temptation! Ah! So I get to justify it as “might as well” – but I like the idea of scheduled indulgence :) Maybe I can have pizza without triggering a full-on binge!

Hey Roni, sorry to be a pest, but I still don’t think v.51 is right. My podcaster (Juice) shows it as v.51, but once I download it, it is actually v.50 again.

I’m not sure why it’s happening, event the RSS feed has been updated so it’s correct here… http://feeds.feedburner.com/ronisweigh/podcasts
and that’s what Juice should be using.

I loved your perspective on the last question about organizing your time and owning those decisions. It really is true. I do realize that in order to make exercise happen, it has be a non-negotiable priority, and it’s going to take up time. I have been prioritizing it this past month (45-60 min workouts 4-5 times a week) and have succeeded! However, at the same time, I’ve struggled with feeling guilty for the things that got pushed aside in those 6-8 hrs per week that I spend exercising/traveling to gym/taking the second shower after the gym. The state of the house on weekdays (I work full time) has declined. Would I prefer a perfect house and no workouts, though? Of course not! I NEVER come home from a workout and think “Oh I wish I had been cleaning the house instead!” However, I do sometimes get to the end of the day, and as I think about all the housework that didn’t get done, I feel guilty that I didn’t manage to do it. I really need to take your advice, though, and own that decision without feeling guilty. Another thing that’s happened a few times is that I haven’t had time to put on make up before going somewhere in the evening. I feel really self-conscious about it because I have a really red tones in my face and it’s totally obvious that I’m not wearing make-up. But, again, I know that working out was better for me.

You mean I can’t do everything at once. Whew! What a relief! Thanks for telling me!

(totally kidding but it sure is nice to hear! I feel better too!)
