One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

Yucky Day Turned Sensational Sunday

16 Comments 2251 views

Today was just crappy. Cold. Rainy. The worst kind of December day.

But I didn’t let that stop me from having a Sensational Sunday! It all started with an amazing breakfast…

Omelet with onion, peppers, spinach and ham paired with a whole wheat english muffin and jelly. My favorite. :)

Once out bellies were full it was time to hit the stores. Christmas is getting awfully close and I hate waiting until the last minute. We did stop to play a bit. Little man is currently obsessed with dinosaur pop-up books. Although today he informed me he no longer wanted to be a paleontologist when he grows up. Now it’s a “house builder” so he can use back hoes. lol

After a few hours we needed to refuel. There’s a new burger place nearby called Z-Burger that has the MOST amazing veggie burger. I top it with every vegetable in the house and split fries with the family. Such an awesome meal!

We came home and played a bit with some early Christmas gifts we got from a family friend.

Here’s little man and husband reading about Sea-Monkeys. His expression is priceless!

Notice the laundry in the background. We weaved laundry duties in all day to get it done. I HATE starting the week with fill laundry baskets.

Little Man and I also checked in on our apple trees. We planted some seeds from an apple we shared a few weeks ago.

I can’t believe how fast they are growing!

Husband and Little man also had a blast playing with our new Hot Wheels track.

But then it was back to laundry. :)

While hubby folded I started dinner. FINALLY getting to try some Whole Wheat Whole Grain Lasagna noodles I found a few weeks ago.

I made a new dish I can’t wait to get up on GreenLiteBites, Turkey Spinach Lasagna Roll-ups.

It was sinfully delicious!

Even the husband devoured his plate, although I think he’d rather just plain old pasta. He’s boring like that. :)

After dinner we cleaned up and Little Man did his Highlights Hidden Pictures while I made his lunch. He LOVES these things and so do I. So fun!

We ended up finishing the laundry AND putting it all away. A small miracle in my book.

The kitchen didn’t far as well but hey, you do what you can do.

I’ll finish up cleaning tomorrow. Right now it’s movie time with hubby (we rented Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) and I’m getting a little snack happy. I’m dreaming of cheese which seems to be my current drug of choice for this pregnancy.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend. I’ll be back tomorrow with some fun news and a pregnancy update. Oh! and I have an awesome pizza review this week. Lot’s of fun stuff!

You Rock Roni – we had a blizzard this weekend. I stayed in Jammies all day and got some baking done with the girls :)

Your eats look wonderful and I LOVE your kitchen! Fun weekend with the family! We were hibernating as there were blizzards all weekend here. The kids had fun in the snow though!

Roni as always your Sunday night reviews cheer me up for the week! Thank you and have a great week!

I love love this lasagna noodles. We use the exact same brand! Looks like you had a great Sunday.

I love hearing about your weekend! I also like it when you post photos of your home. Your kitchen layout is almost identical to mine – except my fridge is just to the right of the oven, and when I’m doing dishes, I don’t see a Christmas tree, but a birdfeeder on a tree outside! Ever since you moved into your home and I saw photos, I have admired your kitchen floor. Is it real wood? We are going to replace our floor, and I figured if it looks good in your kitchen, it’ll look good in mine too!

I love your curtains! We are hoping to put up curtains like that in our kitchen in the spring (saving the money for them right now). I love seeing pictures of other people’s messy house…makes me feel more human! But I also try to go to bed on Sunday night with things in their place…especially in the kitchen and living room. Makes my Mondays and my week so much easier!

P.S. Oh I also LOVE your deck! It’s huge. Turned out really nice. :)

Lynn – it is wood. When we built we decided to go with Hardwood throughout. I wasn’t sure if I would like it but I do!

Thanks Amanda! They are Roman Blinds. I love them too, so much easier then butting up blinds AND curtains. :)

Oh and we just got the deck. I saved up for it all year. SO excited to start the spring off with back door access. :)

That omelette looks REAL good. It’s nice to see the balance between ‘healthy’ food and ‘junk’ food. It goes to show that it’s possible to do both within moderation and maintain successfully.

I love those places that have the kids meals in the cars. My 5yr old LOVED those!

    Awesome weekend, no doubt!

Laundry is the bane of my exsistence and I have yet to fold and put it away. I just keep washing and drying then throwing it on the couch.

But I DID clean my kitchen ;)

Ooo! Whole wheat lasagna noodles! Hubby actually LIKES whole wheat pasta! I’m going to have to track these down…( I LOVE looking at other people’s houses! I try to post some of mine to ‘even things out’.) I wish mine was a clean as yours…Man Cub likes to ‘help’ fold laundry. Bascially undoing what I have just folded, shakes it out and throws it back on the bed/couch/wherever I’m folding. It’s hysterical!

Scott Pilgrim is an awesome movie!!! My husband and a friend saw it in the theater and bought the soundtrack when we got home.

Kelly – I love it! Hubby thought something was missing.. but I was totally entertained the whole movie. LOVED the music!
