One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

Where Do Dad’s Change Diapers?

5 Comments 1201 views

My radar must be up being pregnant as I haven’t had to change a diaper in almost 4 years, but as I was out with the family last night I noticed something. Here’s a shot of the Women’s bathroom door…

and the Men’s…

I’m not sure if I should be insulted that they think only women change diapers OR angry that Dads wouldn’t have a convenient place to take their infant.

Seriously. What year is it?

Great Point! Seriously Dads do their fair share nowadays! Time to update those signs!

Yeah. I just don’t get it. We have twin boys, and it is easiest if we each take one for a diaper change. It is beyond me that some places don’t have changing tables for men. What if my husband was alone with one or both of the boys? He wouldn’t have anywhere to lay them down? (You CERTAINLY can’t be doing that sort of thing on the bathroom floor, and NOT in the mens’ room. Ick.)

Many places have a Family bathroom now, so Dad’s can take their babies/children in there to change them or help them potty. I worked for 14 years in a Mall Management Office, and our Mall has one.

Some places like Kohl’s have family restrooms. However, we have a lot of “local” places without a changing table in either bathroom! I don’t know if they are trying to send the message that they aren’t kid-friendly, or if they just didn’t think it through. I’ve changed my kids on the front car seat more times than I care to remember.

I think the men should just start going right on into the woman’s bathrooms to change their little ones if the men’s room doesn’t have a table! That’ll teach those places to get one in the men’s room! HA! One of the best baby items I invested in was an item similar to the following link…it made it very simple to change the little ones where ever I needed to :) Skip Hop Pronto Changer Diaper Bag, Black
