Roni’s Pregnancy Week 23 – New Bras and The Boppy!
Running late today! So busy but I have so much to tell you. See an old post below the video from my family blog.
Know any pregnant woman? The boppy really is awesome and it makes a great gift! Click here to see one similar to mine, Boppy Classic Nursing Pillow with Soft Slipcover
I Have the Prettiest Feet Ever! – June 28, 2005 (2 weeks after the birth of Little Guy)
For those of you who saw my feet you will completely understand this post. Well, I looked down today and notice the swelling was almost completely gone. I don’t have cankles anymore! I take this as a huge after pregnancy milestone.
I hit another milestone today. Bill returned to work and it was my first day home alone with Ryan. We had fun, although I’m not sure if he will remember any of it considering he sleeps about 18 hours a day. You would then think I wouldn’t be exhausted. Well you would be WRONG! When you have to wake to breast feed every two hours sleep just isn’t the same.
Ryan is doing really good at night and has already come close to sleeping 4 straight hours but, as I’m sure all the other parents out there know, sleep just isn’t the same anymore. I am constantly tired, with my eyes being very heavy. Of course there are times when I could be sleeping but I find myself just starring at him. I’m sure this will pass but in the mean time I’m going to enjoy it while he is this little.

What's Cooking in my kitchen?

Sometimes I'll make something and then get obsessed, making it over and over and over again. It happened twice last week. First with The Most Amazing Bowl of Oatmeal EVER! I now have to stop myself from eating it every single morning. I decided to make a deal with myself [...] -
Four years ago I posted a photo journal of "The Toddler" and I making pizza. FOUR YEARS AGO! Click here to see it. Honestly, it's blowing my mind for 2 reasons. 1.) I can't believe how old my baby is and 2.) I can't believe I get to do it all over again with [...] -
I'm not kidding. I could not believe how good this was. A warm bowl of heaven. The combination of banana and chocolate chips is a favorite of mine. Add in just a touch of peanut butter and it's the perfect trifecta. Not only did it taste amazing, it filled me [...] -
I can't say enough good things about this book. The author doesn't hit you over the head with stead fast rules or try to sell some new catch phrase approach -- if I hear the phrase baby-led weaning one more time my head is going to explode -- she simple shares her thoughts, experiences and [...] -
I've recently discovered the amazing combination of cheese and dried cherries. I know, it sounds weird, but seriously… good! The other day I smeared some Laughing Cow Light Swiss on Cucumber slices and then topped with a cherry. It was a fun, sweet twist on standard cheese and crackers. Well, cheese [...] -
If I was a good blogger this idea would have been published BEFORE the Super Bowl not during it. I made these today to have a little fun. Surprisingly, The Husband liked them even though he didn't eat more than one. Why? Because he's strange like [...] -
If you read my weight loss blog you know I'm battling a bit of back and neck pain right now. I'm starting to feel a little better but those first few days where rough. Being the head chef of the household, this meant we ordered in a couple of times. I'm [...] -
I'm LOVING Pinterest! I can just scroll all day long looking at food photo after food photo. I wish I had more time to peruse! (I'm RoniNoone there by the way?) The other day I pinned a Portabello Mushroom pizza and was immediately inspired. It's such a simple idea and so light. [...] -
The other day I found myself craving an Orange Julius. Are they as popular as I think they are? Growing up we had an Orange Julius at our local mall. It was always a treat for us at the end of a family shopping trip. Once I was old enough to be [...] -
So I'm a little breakfast nutty at the moment. Little Bean LOVES eggs and I find myself cooking them more and more. This morning I decided to go super light (after last nights chocolate overload) and it was totally satisfying for just over 100 calories! The trick to making [...] -
A few weeks ago I saw Chef Michael Simon make a raw kale salad on The Chew. He sliced beets up real thin and cut the kale into ribbons. Then made a vinaigrette out of red wine vinegar and olive oil. I was immediately intrigued. So far I've only [...] -
I've had this idea for a quick creamy chicken dish for a few days now. It was time to give it a shot. The whole family LOVED it. I'm not joking. The only complaint came from Little Guy who declared his hate of mushrooms yet again BUT he ate everything around them. Fine [...] -
I made this on a total whim yesterday as I had leftover avocado after feeding the baby and leftover Spaghetti squash cooked from the weekend. I roasted the squash to serve with my Chicken tips instead of potatoes and it was AMAZING! Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked. So I'm sitting there staring [...] -
It's post holiday season. You know what that means? Leftover Crescent rolls to experiment with! Every year for Thanksgiving I buy a few canisters. It's the only time I do as I can't be trusted around them. Let's just say I'd beat you in the How-Many-Crescent-Rolls-Can-You-Eat-In-One-Sitting game and leave [...] -
Last week the kids and I tried parsnips for the first time and I've made them 3 times since. I wanted to figure out the best way to roast them. Yeah, that's it, the best way to roast them. You'll buy that right? Right? The truth is, I'm obsessed. I found myself [...] -
Yesterday just felt like a good day to stuff an acorn squash. I had one sitting on my counter for quite some time and it was just begging to be cooked. Since both husband and child don't like it I made a solo meal just for me and, well, it was DELICIOUS! [...] -
I bought a fennel bulb on a whim for the holidays not knowing quite what I would do with it. Of course I forgot about until yesterday when I was rummaging through the fridge trying to figure out what I wanted to make for breakfast. I pulled it out and stared [...] -
I probably should have warned you I was taking a holiday hiatus. I've been soaking up every moment of family time imaginable these last few days, leaving no time for anything else. Not even blogging! Shocking I know. ;) So I return not with a new recipe, per se, but to [...] -
Here's a quick idea for when you find yourself with a spaghetti squash but don't quite know what to do with it. Come on. Admit it. That's happened to you too. It's sure happened to me! I roasted this squash on Sunday... [...] -
I'm not sure if this will be a crowd pleaser, but I liked it and thought I'd share in hopes it inspires you to have some fun with kale. I loved the combination of sweet pear, earthy kale, salty bacon bits and creamy hummus. The only issue with the wrap was [...] -
I'm going on day 2 of counting Weight Watcher Points and I'm already inspired to come up with light, healthy meals for myself. It's like I needed the constraint of points to motivate me. Isn't that weird? Anyway, all morning I was brainstorming what to make for lunch. I wanted something flavorful [...] -
I have a friend who patiently cleaned, peeled and cubed a fresh pumpkin and then selflessly gave me some. Scratch that, a TON! I would have never even thought of doing something like that! But now that I have it in my fridge the ideas are flowing. First, I roasted some [...] -
CHRISTMAS COOKIES! YAY! Sorry. I'm so excited! Little Guy and I had tons of fun making and decorating cookies today. It may just be my favorite part of the holiday season. I loved it when I was a kid and now I get to do it with my own kids. [...] -
This may be my simplest idea yet, but it was so tasty and satisfying I had to share. Plus you guys know I'm a Laughing Cow Community Leader so I'm all about sharing fun ways to use their products. You guys may also know how I feel about pausing and making [...] -
I made this on Thursday. THURSDAY! I hate when I can't post something I've eaten within 24 hours. It just bugs me. Not sure why, it really doesn't matter when I post it, does it? Anyway, I did whip this up to cure a pizza craving and I couldn't be happier. [...]

i LOVE my boppy and cannot live w/out it… nursing is so much easier, but i do recommend getting a cover for it… my little guy has a tendancy to pee while he’s nursing and if the diaper isn’t tight, it will leak… just a suggestion (target has both protectors and covers, though they may be cheaper on amazon)… :)
and you totally don’t look pregnant! where is your belly?!?!? ;)
Macarons? YUM! They are my absolute favorite, favorite, favorite cookies. (Can you tell I love them? ) I’ve only tried making them once and it was a super-simple recipe from my son’s Kid’s Cookbook. They didn’t rise (but still tasted so good.) Anyway, I plan to try again for the holidays. Also, the most recent Martha Stewart holiday cookie magazine has a 2 page spread with tons of variations.
Here’s the links. The blog post is interesting b/c it says not to use powdered sugar w/ cornstarch. My kid’s recipe calls for superfine sugar (or caster sugar) which we made by simply putting sugar in the blender. This has worked well with other baked goods in the past.

Well my youngest “baby” is 16 now and “Boppy’s” weren’t around then (that I knew of anyway) but what a great idea! I totally understood the lower back ache…You look GREAT! I always loved the big pregnancy “look” but not the swelling. HATED that. Enjoy!
D
PS Oh and NURSING? Way to go!!! The best way…I know it’s not always possible for everyone but if people really knew how great it is for the mom AND baby, they’d reconsider bottle feeding. Well worth the effort, especially at the beginning when everything is new.
You look and sound great. You are definitely looking pregnant now.
I loved my Boppy with both of my kids. They also grew to be very attached to the pillows.
You are so darn cute! I probably say that every week, but you are.
I LOVED my Boppy when I was nursing. Never thought to use it to sit on. I have low back issues as well. The best thing to help out is a regular massage. I get one every 3 weeks and it helps tremendously w/ my low back issues!
Love your outfit! Cutest pregnant gal I know! Stay well!
I’m so glad I still have my boppy because surprise…I’m pregnant again too. I’m about 8week, I go for an ultrasound to confirm due date tomorrow. This is seriously a surprise. Its my fourth pregnancy and I thought I was done. I was so done in fact that I just had a tummy tuck 7 months ago!!! I love your pregnancy updates especially now that I’m tagging along too.
I just love watching you talk. You are so darn cute. :o)
I know the pulling your talking about. Try doing this: Get on all fours and have your husband push has hard as he can with the base of his hand on the lowest part of your spine(Right above your arse). It will seriously help relieve some pressure.
I love your videos. And you look awesome!!
my favorite part of these videos is how happy you sound. It’s very contagious…
Yes! You sit on the boppy too! I use for several things, as a pillow, support when I feed my baby, you name it!
