2 Fun Personal Announcements RE: Weight Watchers
I really should be in bed but I’ve been wanting to share this news for days!
I landed my first Spokesperson job! ME? a Spokesperson. I’m scared, ecstatic and intrigued at the same time. I’m learning how this whole industry ticks and it’s utterly fascinating for this traditional worker bee.
Here’s the details… I’ve been asked to help on a campaign for Weight Watchers Ice cream. They are sending a camera crew to record a video at my house AND I’ll be doing a radio media tour in January! How fun is that?!? You guys KNOW how I feel about ice cream. ;)
I should note that Weight Watchers and Weight Watchers Ice Cream are two completely separate companies. They are NOT one in the same which actually brings me to my second announcement.
Apparently being honest does pay. I really thought Weight Watchers would want nothing to do with me after giving my initial opinions on the new program. I’m not one to hold anything back and I still have a lot of questions about PointsPlus. But as with anything, I’m willing to learn, experiment and give my thoughts. Apparently Weight Watchers is willing to listen. They have asked me to become an "Insider." According to them,
"The Insiders comprises a group of prominent bloggers who focus on health and lifestyle and have loyal readers who would appreciate hearing about the latest Weight Watchers news."
They are giving me access to eTools (I can’t wait to get in there and check it out!) and will be sending me news about the new PointsPlus program.
Weight Watchers really did help me change my life and I’ve been a fan of theirs for sometimes. I even applied to work there a few years ago. Not as a leader (although I would love to do that) but at a higher capacity. I’m not one to be a corporate minion so I’m probably better off on my own but I welcome the opportunity to work with companies in my niche, especially ones that have had such an impact on me personally.
So that’s it. That’s my big news. Nothing real earth shattering but exciting to me all the same. These are the kinds of opportunities I wouldn’t get to explore while working full time. I may not be bringing home a steady paycheck anymore but I’m happier spending more time at home and having fun working for myself.
OK, I need sleep. I have a breakfast date with a 5 year old. :)

What's Cooking in my kitchen?
-
I've seen it mentioned in a few of my clean eating and healthy cook books but honestly, I never even thought of Farro as an option for me. I refuse to shop at specialty stores and I try to use only common products that I can keep in stock and purchase from a typical grocery [...] -
I've never had a tuna melt. Is that weird? I guess that's what happens when you grow up not liking mayonnaise. I never ate tuna salad or egg salad or chicken salad. Honestly, they always kind of grossed me out. Then I realized.. hey.. why does tuna salad have [...] -
I have no idea where this idea came from. I was hungry. It was lunch. I had Brussels Sprouts. That was all the catalyst I needed.:) I decided to use a slice of real bacon to add flavor and little fat that would help sauté the sprouts. I'm trying [...] -
WOW was this good. I mean seriously good. It's not vegetarian so don't start throwing stones. I'm calling it a Garden Vegetable Burger because I use the new Laughing Cow Smooth Sensations Garden Vegetable Cream Cheese Spread. It was this recipe on Allrecipes.com that inspired [...] -
I drink water 99.9% of the time but every so often it just doesn't cut it. I want something else. Something more. Something slightly sweet. Today was one of those days. I decided to make a refreshing drink based on the famous Arnold Palmer, half lemonade and half iced [...] -
The other day I made a whole chicken on the grill in pieces. It was delicious! Just a little BBQ sauce and an open flame is all I need to make The Husband happy in the dinner department. I also picked up a few ears of corn from the grocery store. They aren't in season [...] -
Let me explain so you don't think I'm making a chili recipe and just put it on pizza. I'm calling this vegetarian Chili Pizza because chili is what inspired flavors. I think I told you. Little Bean is really into, well, BEANS! We go through a can about every 2 days. Yesterday [...] -
I've confessed my inability to follow recipes here on GreenLiteBites many, many times. I don't know why it's so hard for me. I can barely follow some of my own and I wrote the darn things! I think most of my problem stems from not having all the ingredients listed and, [...] -
Leftover brown rice and leftover sauce meet in this quick lunch idea inspired by my favorite food of all time: Pizza. I swear I can turn anything into a pizza concoction. Have you seen all my pizza ideas? I've used everything from pumpkin to zucchini, polenta to wontons. Nothing is off [...] -
This isn't a recipe just an idea I had to share. I can't believe how good it was! I've never had grilled pineapple. Can you believe it? I just never really had the desire to grill it before. When you love something raw sometimes it doesn't occur to you to cook it. [...] -
I whipped this up for lunch on a whim today because, well, I have a baby who's obsessed with three things… Cheese, Beans, and Avocado. No, really. Look... It's my go to meal for him so I find myself with beans and avocado readily available. [...] -
You know that tradition 7 Layer Mexican Dip? The one with the cream cheese, guacamole, salsa, lettuce, cheese, green onion and olives? Yea. That's the one. Well I had a craving for it the other day. Well, not exactly for it as I can never make anything the way it's suppose [...] -
If you go through the archives of GreenLiteBites I have about 5 total beef recipes. Five. Compare that to the 80+ I have tagged with chicken/turkey there's a clear winner in the meat department on my blog and in my home. I don't have a beef with beef (omg The Husband [...] -
I'm a kitchen sink smoothie maker. Whatever I have on hand goes in the blender and viola! A quick breakfast or a healthy snack. Last year I posted an "Elastic Approach" to how I make smoothies but I still like to share specific combinations that worked really well. This was one [...] -
The other night it was just the kids and I home for dinner and I decided to make what I wanted to make no holds barred. Without The Husband home it's much easier for some reason. Hmmm wonder why? Ok, not here to husband bash.. really.. I'm not! I'm here [...] -
*sigh* I was really hoping to share an awesome turkey burger idea. I had grand plans for my leftover ground turkey. The results was alright but they could have been so much better. I added diced pineapple, red pepper, green pepper, oats and soy sauce to the meat and formed 2 patties. In hindsight I [...] -
I made this on a total whim yesterday having no idea if it would work. To my surprise it did AND the husband actually said he liked it... UNSOLICITED! Here's the story. I had only 4 tilapia fillets defrosted for dinner. I knew it wasn't going to be enough for us [...] -
This is a slight reboot of a recipe I posted last year simply called Sweet Potato and Black Bean Chili. Staying true to my use-what-I-have-on-hand roots I, well, used what I had on hand and made a similar dish with a spicy twist. Topping the result with avocado added a cool creaminess that [...] -
Did you hear? The Laughing Cow recently launched Smooth Sensations a line of 5 cream cheese spreads. There's Classic Cream, Classic Cream Light, Strawberries & Cream, Garden Vegetable and my favorite… Cinnamon. It's a sweet wedge of creamy goodness! Today I decided to use my new favorite flavor [...] -
Confession time, I recorded a 30 minute video making this with both kids (partally) 2 nights ago. I miss videos. I really do but they seem so much more difficult with 2 children. I'm also having technical difficulties with my video recording and audio syncing making it VERY time consuming to edit. [...] -
A couple of years ago I shared a modified version of Sloppy Joe's I made for a party. Everyone loved it but I've been wanting to try to make something similar for the family on a smaller scale and without the pre-made canned Manwich sauce. I don't particularly have any issues [...] -
Yesterday I was dreaming about a salad. Not just any salad, but a chickpea filled, cucumber, and red onion salad with a fun, tangy dressing. Unfortunately, I had no cucumber or red onion. Well, that's a lie. I had a half of cucumber but it was a mushy mess and [...] -
Dinner meals are getting harder and harder for me to share lately. I've gone back to just whipping things up without really measuring anything (this meal was going to be one of those until I realized I still had enough light to take some photos.) I've also instituted a few brainless meal nights [...] -
Three years ago I posted a video called "Makin' Hard Boiled Eggs" where I shared my system for, well... making hard boiled eggs. Genius name, I know. I'm smart like that. Anyway, since then I've gotten tons of feedback and comments thanking me but all the information is locked in a long winded 10 minute [...] -
Yup. You read that correctly. BEET as in those red vegetables that stain your fingers pink. Honestly, I have no idea what possessed me to make this. I don't particularly like beets. I mean I like them, but I don't looove them. Two summers ago I made them for [...]

How fun! I think that is great and goes to show that being real pays off. Thanks for being such a great role model of authenticity!!
That’s pretty awesome Roni! I always thought you would make a great spokeswoman. And for ice cream? Match made in heaven. ;)
Congratulations!!!
That’s wonderful news Roni! Good for you and congrats!
Congrats, Roni! This really is awesome!
How exciting! You’re going to be awesome in both capacities. :) I love eTools, although I mostly use WW Mobile on my iPhone these days which ties in to my eTools account.
I think that is huge news! Congrats, I can’t wait to hear about the inside scoop
Roni, that’s awesome! And here I was worried about them getting upset about you using their trademarks and stuff. Obviously I don’t know much. Congrats on your new gigs! I’m secretly jealous! I want to be an “insider” or a success story or something. I have at least 20 lbs and five years to go, lol!
This is wonderful, amazing and just great. You will do so well with this, as you do your vlogs. Happy, Happy for you!!
Congratulations!! That IS exciting news and I’m really excited for you!!!
How exiting! I am thrilled for you! They couldn’t have picked a better person for the job…
Congratulations! That is really exciting!! Can´t wait to hear more about it!!
Congrats, Roni! That is so exciting!!!
WONDERFUL! WW’s is great and you’ll be a wonderful spokesperson and “insider”…you have a great way of saying things, being direct yet being kind! I’m happy for you. Wish I’d be able to see the icecream “spots” – I”m sure they won’t run in Canada :( .
D
PS (yes, another one!) – hope you enjoyed your breakfast “date” – they’re the BEST! Especially with kiddos!
D
Those are great opportunities and I have no doubts that you are the perfect person for the jobs!
D – Actually you will be able to. It’s just an online video. No tv for me. :)
That is so SO cool! I’d love to work for/with WW!
So cool. I am really excited to hear about your experiences as an Insider. Our company is focusing on social media more and more and I just read a book that described using people that had a passion for something in a unique way that sounds pretty similar.
How awesome!!! As a loyal reader/stalker since the ‘Old Site’, I’m really excited for you!!
Cool! Sounds like a FUN job! :) Congrats!
can’t wiat to see you on the boards.

How exciting! I can’t wait to hear all about it.
SO FREAKING SUPER COOL!!!!!! I can’t wait to watch you!!! :)
That is so awesome! The only thing better would be if you teamed up with WW for WW PIZZA!!! :)
How amazing! Congratulations on BOTH opportunities! I’m soo soo happy for you. You are the perfect person for the jobs!
Congrats Roni! I’m sure you will be a great spokesperson.
I think that the insider position with WW really shows how important your honesty is and how much people really do appreciate it! Can’t wait to hear all the fun things that come from these two opportunities.
CONGRATULATIONS! so fun.
Awesome and congratulations!!!! Can’t wait to hear more. WW has changed my life too.
FINALLY! I am so glad for your opportunites. You are an inspiration and a totally honest and real person hence all of your loyal fans, it is about time WW realized it.
Another thing….You need to change the info under “Payin’ Bills’ about Vitalicious since they are no longer 1 point but 3 :(
Congratulations!!!!!
Hey, this is very random, but will you mention on your next call that when you’re on the Food Tracker and looking at the Daily Healthy Guidelines descriptions that they have Olive Oil and “Rapeseed”. That just doesn’t sit well with me and I’m sure most other women, and men for that matter.
I know this may sound so, so stupid and you have a million things to discuss and go over with them but I just can’t stop feeling the way I do everytime I see it.
Congratulations again on all of these exciting new beginnings coming your way!!
How incredibly fun and exciting! :) Can’t wait to see where this takes you! <3
What terrific news Roni! I can’t wait to hear about some inside scoops. :o)
Such great news! Congratulations:_
Great news! I am so happy for you!
BTW Points Plus is getting easier after a few weeks :)
That’s awesome!!! Congrats!!! : )
Congratulations!!!! Glad to hear WW has you as an Insider.
Isn’t rapeseed an oil?
Katie – Apparently that is an oil.. http://bit.ly/hDhZjF I had no idea!
I think rapeseed is the term for canola oil used in Canada/UK-I remember being in England as a teenager and one a train passing through fields I saw a big sign for a “rapeseed demo” which I can only assume involved pressing oil. Had a similar response though!
That is so exciting! You have so many new and interesting opportunities coming your way, what a great way of growing your career, totally organic!
Congrats! How fun! I love the new WW plan. Can’t wait to read more of your thoughts on it.
Congratulations!!!!! I’ll be looking forward to hearing more about Points Plus and ice cream, of course!
Congratulations! I think you’re really going to love e-tools. It totally changed the way I felt about tracking. I went from dreading tracking on paper to loving and tracking everything on e-tools. Plus, there’s a million recipes at your fingertips and charts and graphs…I could go on and on. It definitely helped me lose 115 lbs.
Congrats!
Congrats! But I’ve always considered you a WW spokesperson! It is so much easier relating to an everyday normal person successful from the program, then a celebrity (who has cooks, personal trainers, etc…)-I’m not downgrading the weight loss of celebrities but they do have a little more options to make it stick then the everyday person!
Wait until you hit 40 +, then you will start to feel old. I have a 4 and a 5 year old. I didn’t have them until I was 40/41 but age really bothers me now. It didn’t really bother me at your age.
