One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

My Sensational Sunday Super Fast in Pictures…

17 Comments 2257 views

Not feeling too well tonight guys. I think today’s been the worst day for morning sickness yet. I just feel icky and tired and bleh. I even snapped at the husband because he wanted me to remove saran wrap from his plate. Long story.. but I went OFF! In retrospect.. it’s quite funny. At the time I was pissed.

Anyway, I didn’t want to relax without a quick Sensational Sunday update. Today was awesome even with the slight constant state of nausea I was in.

It started with Little Guy and I making Pumpkin Oatmeal cookies….

He’s all into the pictures.. I LOVE IT!

I’ll post the recipe tomorrow. I’m just not up for it tonight. I will tell you they are vegan (just wanted to experiment) and the Little Guy probably polished off 15 before lunch which was ok by me. They were full of whole wheat flour, oats, flaxseeds, and pumpkin! :) —Update: I just posted them, click here to see the pumpkin oatmeal cookies

Then I went for a run…

Chart taken from Nike+ web site after sync. Click here to see how I did it.

It was AMAZING. A perfect day for a run, crisp and sunny. However, I wasn’t the only one who hit the pavement. Little Guy had his first ever race event! He ran a half a mile with the 5-6 year old group at the Charm City Run Kids XC Series. He was ecstatic…

I got to run along side of him. It was awesome!

Look at the determination as he approached the finish line!

Does it look familar?

That was me finishig my first ever half marathon, click here for story.

After we got back from the race we enjoyed my favorite fall meal, pasta with homemade sauce. The husband was in heaven. :)

Now we are settled in for the night. I just wrote my review of The Social Network after reading the Little Guy a story and now I’m ready for my night of TV, The Next Iron Chef and Mad Men while snacking on SOMETHING to calm this stomach down! And darn it, I’m all of out sorbet!

Man…if this was your morning sick day, I feel really guilty that you did more today than I do in some of my most productive days. I’m proud of Ryan! He looked so excited, and I can’t wait to see the cookie recipe. Keep up the great work!

That’s so great that he did that race. Give the little man a high five from me!

And that cookie sounds like the perfect treat to pack in the kids lunches! I can’t wait to see the recipe.

Aww I kinda choked up at Ryan crossing that finish line. And YES like mother, like son for sure!
Love Ryan’s stick horse and your saran wrap story! TF!
I have been vegan for almost 2 months now and am really looking forward to your cookie recipe

You are SUCH a great role model for your son! Look at him, being fit and active just like mommy. I know you are so proud :)

Ask your Dr about B6 for nausea!

I went off about Hubby taking his laundry to work and doing it. ( ?!?!?) I know! Less work for me, but I was UPSET!
I hope the horsey didn’t eat all the cookies! Or was it after the can of oats?

How awesome for your son (and you as his proud mom)! My little boy is 3 and he just can’t wait until he can “run like mommy” that warms my heart.
Those pumpkin cookies look amazing too!

I loved the pictures of “Little Guy.” He is adorable and looks like a happy boy. He also looks so competent–making oatmeal, cookies, taking photos, AND his first race. I can tell that you’re a great example for him.

That is so cute that they did a run! And he’s even taking photos of food? Adorable! When does he get his own blog? :)

I asked him but he’s not interested. :( I’m not going to force him but I hope he gets into it soon!

I am 8 weeks pregnant and can’t wait for my 2nd trimester to come so I can stop being sick. You are better than I am. Most evenings when I get off of work I am so exhausted and so sick that I can’t do anything. You are almost through to your second trimester. Were you sick the entire time with “Little Guy” or did it go away? You are such and inspiration!

    October 4, 2010

With Little Guy I was sick and actually threw up many times.. this pregnancy is a little different. The nauseousness started later in the 1st trimester and I haven’t thrown up but I almost feel like it’s getting worse! Ugh. They say ever pregnancy is different!

    October 4, 2010

THAT’S the one!!!!! I love it!!! I cannot wait to try those cookies!!!!

YAY! For little guy! He looks so intense in his finish line pic.

The cookies look amazing. I hope you are feeling better by now :)
