A Sensational Sunday with a Last Place Winner

13 Comments 1395 views

It’s gotta be a Sensational Sunday when it ends with a parfait. Right?

Since I started with it I shall walk you through my day backwards. The parfait was my way to cure cravings and this obsessive pregnancy HEARTBURN! I can’t take it anymore. It’s driving me nuts. So I took a few peoples suggestion to eat more banana which is actually taking the edge off a little.

Tonight (and for the last week) I’ve been having sugar cravings. I keep stealing bites of candy from the Halloween stash. It’s like all I want is something sweet. So I grabbed a pudding cup from the fridge, added a dollop or two of whipped cream and layered with slice banana. Totally tasty, fun and GONE as I polished it off just before writing this. :)

Before that I finished ALL the laundry (GO ME) while playing Blokus with the Little Guy. He’s getting really good!

Earlier the Husband took him to the park while I posted a new idea on GreenLiteBites, Simple Base Cabbage Soup. It’s my take on the Weight Watchers 0 point soup.

We promised the little guy a trip to the park after he ran his race. Today was another run in the kids series and he had a half a mile to take on with a bunch of other 5 and 6 year olds. He did great but noticed real fast he was in the back of the pack. Then he got a cramp and slowed down even more to the last position. But my little man has heart. He kept on trucking and crossed the finish line. I explained to him that THAT’S all that matters. Running is such a confidence building individual journey that it really doesn’t matter if you "win" it’s all about proving to yourself that you can finish. Which he did and I think he learned a great lesson while having fun. Honestly, he handled it better then I thought he would. I was super proud of him.

Before the race we had a lazy morning bumming around in our pajamas watching the Ravens. As you can see the football bug has bitten someone in my house. Believe me, this is not my doing. It’s ALL Daddy. ;)

I did take Yoga this morning for the first time in MONTHS! and man was it tough! I’m going to try to go every Sunday now as a way to stay limber through this pregnancy.

So that’s my Sunday in a nutshell. How was your weekend?

Back from a weekend in Vegas…long drive and long lines…but got lots of walking in and jogged twice on the most amazing treadmills at the Mirage! They may be $5500 but I have got to get me one of those…I need to start saving!

My dad lost everything in a house fire on Thursday evening so since Friday I have been running around trying to find clothing, shoes, and personal items for him. SUCCESS!!! and very grateful he has not a scratch on him after the gas heater he was working on blew up. Lots of walking in the shops and too tired to eat much so I did great!

christina – THAT IS AWESOME! I know a few people who did as well. It was a running filled weekend!

Sana – One day I shall do that too. :)

Sheri J – OMG.. I’m so glad he’s ok. It’s times like that you realize what matters, I’m sure.

I am 24 weeks pregnant, and have had crazy heartburn too (doesn’t help that I craving the things that give me heartburn?!). I talked to my doc last Thursday and she said I could take Zantac in the morning and night to help–haven’t done that yet (still just popping Tums), but may soon! Have you tried Zantac or Pepcid yet, and if so, is it helping? BTW, your cabage soup looks yummy–did it give you heartburn? :-)

My doc said I could take Zantac too but I haven’t taken the leap. It’s hard to tell what GIVES me the heartburn. I just always seem to have it. Even before I eat. The only time I don’t have it is when I’m actively eating. So I’m trying to surround myself with things like the cabbage soup so I make better choices. :)

When my sister was pregnant with each of her children she said she wished she’d bought stock in Tums! At least she was getting plenty of calcium. I spent my Sunday working on photos. I figured a couple of hours and 6 of ’em later, I still hadn’t made the dent I wanted to. Oh well, I guess that’s something to keep me occupied during the long, dark, cold winter.

Unfortunately, we spent the weekend being sick here at the house–first me and today my little girl. BUT, Sunday night we did have a really fun surprise birthday party in which everyone dressed as old people and it was a great time…AND I have finally gotten to my “pre-baby” weight; I’ve lost 20 pounds since last Christmas. I can’t tell you how inspiring you are for that. My philosophy has been “move more, eat less” and little by little, it is working. Thank you!

We had a great weekend. We went to the Rutgers game at the new Giants stadium on saturday. We had the boys with us so we left before Legrand took the hit that paralyzed him. I was crying listening to it on the radio on the way home, so sad. Hopefully only temporary. On sunday we went pumpkin picking and to the county parks day. It was beautiful and so much fun. A great family weekend.

When I was pregnant, I had heartburn almost the entire time as well. Tums didn’t do much for me but Rolaids was on the list of approved OTC antacids so I gave those a try… wow, what a difference! I think I should have bought stock in Rolaids.

I spent the day (Sunday) for 8 hours at the Dublin Ireland airport waiting on the rest of my family. Delta was late getting them to our connecting flight, so I made the flight and they didn’t. All is good now and I have spent the last two days traveling around the countryside of Ireland. It is amazing. I’m still looking for any guy that looks like the men in the movie P.S. I Love You, none yet so far but I still have 11 days to go.
