The Pumpkin Cake – Happy Halloween!

I have SO much to get out of my head and just not enough time. Ugh. How is that possible?

*deep breath* *smile* Life is good.

Anyway, I just wanted to post to say Hi and share a few links. I’ve been working my tail off on the GreenLiteBites book. It’s just a collection of recipes from the site but MAN it’s a lot of work. I’d much rather be blogging. ;)

Ahhhh I feel better. Sometimes you just have to stop and acknowledge what it is you are actually doing.

Tomorrow I’m planning on recording a podcast and then this weekend the Husband and I are planning a day in DC on Saturday alone.

One the workout front… I haven’t run since Tuesday and have to admit I’m losing my motivation. I feel great WHILE I’m running but getting out the door is getting harder and harder. Someone needs to give me a shot of motivation.

Not sure that this counts as motivation – but in my first pregnancy my body simply did not want to run. So leaving the house to “run” became nearly impossible. Once I switched my mind set and realized my goal to to have a healthy, fit, strong pregnancy I was able to give myself permission to simply be active doing whatever felt good at the time. So my regular high intensity workouts of strength training/intervals/running etc swapped to yoga, walking, hiking, and walking slowly up and down stairs. Sometime a stroll was all I needed to get the blood flowing and feel good. I definitely found that my body wanted different types of activity being preggo vs non preggo:)

  2. Love the cake – so cute! And thanks for the links!

And I can relate to you about the motivation thing… getting started is SO hard! I guess just concentrating on how you feel during the activity is what helps. :)

I’m also 16 weeks pregnant and am a runner. I have had a tough time as well keeping motivated. What has really helped me is I have a 1/2 marathon scheduled on December 5th (I go the ok from my Dr., will prob run/walk it) so being on a training routine really helps. But even on days i’m not motivated at all I just tell myself to get out there for 10min and if I want to hit the couch after 10min then I can go home without guilt. That usually ends up with me staying out for my entire scheduled time. As I think the first 10min are always the hardest for me. Good Luck and so glad to be following along with you.

I’m NOT pregnant, and I’m losing my motivation, Roni! I need to get it back. I haven’t worked out since Tuesday, but I’m planning on going to Zumba in the morning. My baby girl has been sick, and I’ve been tired and then eating junk…and now I’m feeling it. Determined to get back on track this weekend. I feel so much better when I make healthy choices so why is it so hard to be consistent and do it?

Boy I wish I knew! :) I’m also trying to figure out why it’s so hard to remember to brush my teeth at night. ;)

    Hi Roni~

I hear you about the motivation, and I think the key is to just put those workout clothes and shoes on first thing, and then just go! I read somewhere that even if you tell yourself you’re just gonna go and do 1/2 your workout, you end up doing more or the full workout. (I think Marcia said that too.) I type this as I sit here in my workout clothes, thinking about my bootcamp class that starts in an hour. And you know what the funny thing is? I walked in the door after dropping my daughter off at school thinking, “Maybe I can go check out Roni’s sites for some motivation this morning.” So, maybe just know ing you motivate people is motivation enough??? :) Good Luck!!

Sarah – That’s EXACTLY what I did this morning. I just went. :)
