One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

Stocking Up on a Sensational Sunday

The day after vacation is rough. Isn’t it? You’re out of routine. There’s no food in the house, you have tons of laundry to do and work is looming over your shoulder. You can either throw yourself a pity party about how much you ate/gained or just hit the ground running. I chose to strap on my shoes even though I didn’t actually run today. ;)

This morning little guy and I woke up with minimal breakfast options. I made him the last two eggs and I settled on some oatmeal. Old Fashioned Blueberry Oatmeal to be exact. It was the only thing I could make without milk or eggs.

Afterwards we started the laundry and recorded the first half of our frozen spinach trick video. Little guy has definitely entered a VERY talkative stage. He’s been annoying the crap out of cracking me up recently.

We then headed to the store. Our house has been in serious need of supplies. I’m very much a bulk shopper and it drives me nuts when we are out of the basics, like toilet paper, garbage bags and shampoo. These are the kinds of things I buy at the wholesale store. It saves me from having to manage them in my week to week shopping. When our stocks are low and we start running out of things I get overwhelmed. It drives me crazy.

Anyway, we headed to Costcos to refill our stock. Little guy and I had a blast wondering around the store trying samples. I know I’m in the minority here but I LOVE grocery shopping. I could walk around all day just reading labels and discovering new products. Unfortunately Little Guy doesn’t have the same shopping stamina as I so we headed home put the groceries away. Then finished up our recording.

After another quick trip to another store we settled in for the rest of the day. All of a sudden the doorbell rang. My husband had an Edible Arrangement delivered for my birthday!

These things are AWESOME! I love the idea of sending someone healthy fruit as a gift. It’s tasty. It’s cute. It’s fun! They are my new go to for friends and family. I just sent one to my sister-in-law to celebrate her new baby!

We munched on the fruit all day. Then it was dinna’ time. I decided to make a family favorite to kick off the week, Beer Chicken with a side of Roasted Margarita Asparagus, corn on the cob and an experimental cabbage salad that I feel in love with…

I can NOT wait to post that one on GreenLiteBites, and yes.. there’s feta in it. ;) I’m hoping to find time tomorrow night to write it up.

After dinner we cleaned up, made lunches and watched Disney Nature Earth with Little Guy before putting him to bed.

Right now I’m munching on Veggie Crunchers (they deserve a food find post… just need more time!)…

Veggie Crunchers

…and catching up on TV watching with the husband. Right now we are really into Louie, The Closer and of course Mad Men! Which just started so I gotsta go!

Here’s the first food journal I kept since before vacation. It felt really good to get back into a routine.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.
