Podcast/Video time! I’m not doing too too bad am I? Slowly getting back into the groove and I’m liking it. Hopefully I can get back my 1 video a week pace by this fall. Lord knows I can surely talk that much. ;)

    Roni, I just wanted to let you know that you made me smile – even laugh out loud – several times during this video. I’ve been lacking in the motivation department for the past few weeks and trying to find something to get me back on track, so I have indulged and watched a couple of your recent videos (love the hair, by the way!) and it’s just what the doctor ordered. I am an “eater,” too and feel, like you, that no matter how much I exercise, I have to always be conscious of what I’m putting in my mouth because I can just eat to eat!
    Anyway, thanks for being you and for sharing with us. HUGS!

    Excellent tips! I enjoyed watching that. I’ve been wondering about how sites get paid and how to credit them for watching too. Thanks!

    Hello Roni

    Loved this video. Especially the difficult question about what to do when your husband gets more points than you. I have a similar situation in which my husband eats entirely different than I do and eats more meals. He has a roofer and so he burns way more calories than I so he can eat more food with no weight gain. Urgh…

    My solution? We cook our own meals. There are times when we do not eat together. Because frankly, it’s just too tempting. There are times where I’ll take a bite of his food but it’s a huge challenge to stay on plan. Unfortunately, we do not eat our meals together except for maybe on weekends we may have a meal or two together.

    It’s a huge challenge.

    Hi Roni,
    You have just changed my whole mood about WW and the weight loss process. I love your idea about introducing new habits when my life is nutso! What a positive spin! I have lost about 30 lbs on Jenny Craig since 2/11/09. In April of this year I rejoined WW and lost 5 more lbs and gained them back. Why? Because my life is crazy busy and I love to go out & eat. I stopped making good choices and that’s why I have been up & down with these 5 lbs for months. I’m annoyed at myself but I am recommitting myself to actually do the WW program correctly. I am jounraling today for the first time in months! I also started c25k and I am on w4d2. I think getting back into running has helped me not gain more weight. I love running and hope to run my first 5K in Sept. I’m going to write my WW post this weekend and I feel much more confident I will succeed now that I have listened to you.

    As to the question about points differentials. I get about 15 less than my husband, I’m not sure of the exact number now but here are some of hte things that we do.
    1. he gets about 25-50% larger portions of the main dish, not enough for me to notice (most of the time)
    2. I have 2 bottles of homemade salad dressing, his has more fat and consequently more points.
    3. He adds butter to veggies, I don’t, and I don’t miss it.
    4. He has a decently hefty pointed snack during work, where I don’t see it :P or I will just in general give him more snacks for the work day than I would ever consume.
    5. He drinks 2% milk, I do not
    These all add up to about 12 points a day and honestly he is much much more sedentary than I am so being short 3 a day won’t kill him :P and if I eat a few extra that’s okay I earn 5 activity points most days.

    I hope that this helps someone, there are really alot of little things you can do that won’t sabotage your own efforts. It is harder on the weekends but I tend to use all my weekly points then and well he doesn’t…

    Roni, I love listening to these. Remind me of when I was in WW and went to meetings and are just a nice little reality check sometimes. :) Please keep them going.

    Awesome vid Roni! You are so REAL girl and obviously love helping people with their goals.

    I have to agree with you that journalling food choices is one of the keys to weight loss. Without that accountability it is it SO EASY to mindlessly overeat like I have been doing and I’ve regained all of my hard won loss and then some. We all have challenges to overcome when it comes to reaching our goals whether it is a new baby, a husband who is allowed twice as many points, or a husband like mine and yours who can eat any old unhealthy, high calorie thing and never gain an ounce.

    SparkPeople.com was where I did my journalling and I need to start up again with baby steps. Thank you so much for all you do with your sites!

    Love your blog Roni. Just curious about the questions in the podccasts. I’m sure you have a long list of questions from people dating back over the past year, but have you ever considered mixing new questions with the older questions so people might get the help they seek earlier? I know the information you impart is beneficial, regardless of where we are in our journeys, but it seemed all the questions today were almost a year old, and the inquirers may have moved past their dilemma? Your blogs always offer me new things to share with my friends from your perspective. Thanks again for all you do and have a happy, fun filled holiday!

    girliefriend – I’m actually doing that! And actually Brenda from this list just had her question from last year and a few weeks ago answered and I didn’t even realize it until she pointed it out!

    I’m hoping by doing some old and some new I will catch up in middle. At least that’s the plan. Unfortunately I get a more and more each week so it’s getting hard to manage. I’m doing my best and I appreciate everyones patience. Hopefully with my days free I will be able to catch up.
