I don’t care how much you ate this weekend. The chocolate, the cookies, the pizza, the fast food, all of it, really, I don’t care. It’s over. It’s done. It’s eaten. There’s no taking it back.

Now you can beat yourself up, get depressed and continue to punish yourself by going down this self pity path OR you can…


Seriously girl.Get on your running clothes. Make those lunches. Pull out something for dinner tomorrow. If half the battle is won with confidence the other half is preparation. You got this.

    Hey Roni, don’t be so hard on yourself. Weekends are hard. I really don’t want to see you regreting about weekend food (it’s not fun to regret this kind of thing) in a “don’t beat yourself up for the weekend” post, so why don’t you start a “cheat day” philosophy?
    If you think about it, you’ll still be doing the exact same things. I mean, I read your blog and maybe it has become a weekend thing, but that’s allright. Maybe you shouldn’t try to fight it, maybe embrace it is better way?
    When I try to clean right on weekends, I fail most of the time. But when I started to give myself a choice (choice your weekend cheat day, saturday or sunday) the cheating and the bad eating went away.
    I crave fattening food (not fast food, but fattening food) everyday but when I almost fall off, I say to mayself “come on, on sunday. Wait until sunday”. The stupid thing is, I’m not really hungry on my cheat day XP The only day I can go berserker food mode, I eat the wrong food but do not go berserk.
    Try it one week. I mean, if you are going to sin, sin but plan it first. When the day comes, you might be surprised. You might even crave the good foods in the cheat day. Try it once, it can’t kill ya, you know?

    wow–i needed this note to self! i ate an ENTIRE box of swiss cake rolls (YUCK), and tub of Edy’s ice cream and woke up feeling defeated. this post made me buck up and MOVE ON!!

    Love this! Too many poeple beat themselves up after an unhealthy day, meal, weekend, etc. You can’t change the past so move on and eat healthy today! :) Remember how much better you feel when you eat right and soon you’ll find a balance!

    THANK YOU!! I sooo needed to read this this morning!!!! YOU ROCK!!! I too have had a bad weekend of eating which started earlier in the week – been in a FUNK – but I got out for a long run Sat and today I got in 3 miles and have been tracking my food all morning!! WE GOT THIS!!!!!!

    I love the attitude you adopt when it comes to “less than effective” food choices. We can’t take it back, there is no undo button. All we can do is treat ourselves lovingly with effective food and exercise choices, realize that every new day on the planet is a chance to do it right, and know that it’s what we do NEXT that counts!

    I had a similar experience….worked all day and ate at three different restaurants in one day!! The only consolation to all of it was that I made healthier choices: grilled chicken sandwiches, egg whites, turkey bacon, etc. A few months ago, I would have eaten with reckless abandon…AND i’m back on track. Looking at all those flex points gone in the beginning of my week isn’t so easy though….
