I had a crappy day. It took me 2 HOURS to get home from work. The traffic was horrendous. Thankfully I had leftovers in the fridge to whip up a quick dinner or I might have fallen prey to the husbands Pizza request. Ohhhh how tempting it was but it was healthier, cheaper and faster for me to cook. Really.. it was.

After dinner we did get in a nice family walk and some family time in the back yard before heading in to watch Scooby Doo. That made me feel better. :)

Once little guy went to bed I posted my new Sweet Mini Meatball Idea on GreenLiteBites and then I decided it was time for ice cream. Sometimes you just need ice cream. Especially after a looooong day.

So I measured out 1/2 a cup of chocolate frozen yogurt, topped it with frozen wild blueberries and some fresh strawberries with a small squirt of light chocolate syrup.

It was DELICIOUS! And so how I wanted needed to end my day. Oh! and only about 150 cals… 3WWPs!

Now I’m off to bed. I’m getting up early again tomorrow.

My former RD told me, “You don’t eat ice cream because you’re hungry. You eat ice cream because it tastes good.” and basically I shouldn’t feel guilty about it because everyone loves ice cream.
I agree, sometimes you just need ice cream. So enjoy :)

  2. That looks so very good! No ice cream in my house yet… since I am pretty sure I would eat entirely too much. But I did see that Breyers now makes a mint chip yogurt and might have to give that a try.

  3. I’m still buying the super expensive single servings for my family.

    But that’s okay. It’s helping me re-calibrate.

Do you make chocolate almond milk? Or buy it premade?

  5. Lyn says:

LOL, even on Medifast, I’ve been making “ice cream” out of their pudding plus ice. You’re right, it is one of those necessary things once in awhile!

Sorry you had a crappy day but at least you got an adorable picture out of it. :-)

It’s true. I rarely have so when I do (only when I have those cravings and really know that I want it) it’s just so good! :)

  9. I had ice cream last night too, Fat Free Breyers. It was just one of those ice cream kinda days.

Gwen – I’m buying it right now.. haven’t had time to make my own although I’d love to experiment with the perfect chocolate recipe. :)

Good job! Sounds like you did the best you could. Sorry you had a crappy day. And yes, sometimes you just NEED ice cream.

Mmm! I want that now! Breakfast or lunch!

A co-worker just told me this morning about these new Skinny Cow ice cream cups that are only 2-3 WWPs for the whole container. I can’t wait to try them!

  14. Some days are just like that. I had a crappy day and ate a ton of strawberries with yogurt and blueberries. O and the ton of granola on top.

  15. I would much rather eat at home most nights, I can make a healthier more filling meal than what I would get in most restaurants.

    Cute photo!

    Roni,

One of the cool things about blogging is connecting to people from all over the world. I’ve gotten a real kick out of reading some posts on your blog. This one about ice cream and pizza touched a nerve for me because they are both weaknesses of mine. I’m still thinking about making my little boy a chocolate milkshake yesterday and battling my willpower so that I didn’t make enough for both of us. Sometimes, you do just need ice cream. Thanks for reminding me I am not alone. All the best to you…

Roni, Congratulations on your exciting news. Here’s mine. I had chocolate ice cream with my little boy tonight and enjoyed it despite the guilt. : )
