I’m joking about my new design, of course. For me the white is a welcomed simplicity. Even I was getting overwhelmed by my old site. So yes… I cleaned everything up. P-o-s-s-i-b-l-y making it too white. So I tinted the content area a little as to not blind those with bright screens. :)
Moving on to Kale and this is just a quick tip. Tonight I made one of my favorite meals of all time… TACOS! Seriously I love love love taco night so much I even recorded a video on how I make it up real quick. Well, tonight I tried something a little different just to see if it would fly in my picky eater household and to my surprise…. it did! Both the husband and the little guy made no complaints about the bulked up taco filling with black beans AND Kale. Normally I’d save this kind of post for GreenLiteBites but I just wanted to mention it quick here in hopes to inspire you to try something new and simple, like adding chopped up kale to your taco filling. Just look how much yummier and healthier it looks! To make dinner even lighter for myself, I stuck with Taco Lettuce Wraps instead of using shells. Honestly, I’m starting to like lettuce wraps even better then traditional tacos.
Ok moving off the bulking your food soapbox and on to my running goals. yea remember those? The itsy bitsy little goals I set to run one event a month this year. So far so good except for our crazy snowy February. I even have a 6k lined up next weekend.
Anyway, one of the monthly events I registered for was the Pittsburgh Half Marathon On May 2. Honestly, when I found out I was pregnant I decided I was going to skip the 13 miles. I thought it would be a little too much running and intense training for me while carrying a child. So I eased my workouts and sort of bailed on My Crazy Half Marathon Training Schedule hoping no one would notice.
Well now that my situation has changed I went through a bit of feeling sorry for myself followed by a little I’m not good enough. But then I settled into a motivated why not? So yea… There’s no way I can prepare to run a half marathon is 2 weeks BUT who cares?! Why not still go, have fun, do my best and cross the finish line? What do I have to lose?
So THATS what I’m going to do and you know what… I’m TOTALLY psyched. Scared out of my mind but psyched. My longest run this year was 5 miles I ran on Sunday and that was tough but I’m not going to let it get to me. I’m going to do the best I can and that will be good enough. It’s not about being the fastest or the best, it’s about the experience.
