Why FitBloggin’?
It’s the night before FitBloggin’ and I thought I’d take a moment to tell you why?
Why did I embark on such a crazy endeavor?
In short, I LOVE blogging! Can you tell? I mean seriously, I started with a family blog when I got pregnant 5 years ago and now I have a small media company, a thriving weight loss community, a food blog and more domain names then I’d like to admit. I was seriously born to blog. It’s in my blood.
Blogging allows me to explore and practice so many of my interests and passions. Web development, food, photography, design. My blogs are in a way, my canvas. They allow me to be creative in ways I never thought possible and, honestly, they’ve changed me.
Being a serial dieter for most of my adult life it wasn’t until I started blogging that I was able to begin to move past the "yo-yo diet cycle of hell" I was in. By facing my feelings about food and body image in a journal style format online I discovered that this wasn’t my struggle alone. MANY people shared my dysfunctional relationship with food. I was no longer alone and I found the support that I desperately needed.
Am I going out on a limb by saying blogging changed my life. I don’t think so. From my health to my career, it’s had a major impact. That’s crazy, I know… but it really has.
Pair my personal experience with blogging and my natural inclination to share knowledge and teach and well, what’s a better forum then a conference? I love to connect people. I love to see people succeed. I love to use my talents and experience to help make those things happen.
Hosting this conference seemed like a natural next step in this crazy journey I started 5 years ago. I wonder where I’ll end up but I have no time to ponder that now. I need to get some sleep before tomorrow. I have quite a weekend ahead of me!
If you are going to FitBloggin’ I hope you have fun, meet new friends, and learn something new. Oh! and you better not leave without saying Hi! ;)

I hope you have a great conference and everything goes smoothly. I wish I was going! I am looking forward to hearing about it.
So GLAD you decided to do it. :) Can’t wait to meet everyone!
Gotta say Roni i feel very proud and excited for you for all this hard work. Have a fabulous weekend :)
Roni you are awesome and I am so glad that you found this in you! I totally understand as my blog has helped me get past the “this time is different” diets from hell! I just started blogging about 6 months ago but it has changed my life in many ways. I am a learning professional by day at a Fortune 100 company and I have no idea why I didn’t start this sooner. This too is in my blood! Thank you so much for the kick start I have needed and for putting on this awesome conference! I can’t wait to meet everyone!
Regardless of the reason, I am so glad you started your blog 5 years ago. I’ve been a lurker of yours for years and here I am attending Fitbloggin and I’m excited to meet some new people and learn more. Here’s to unknown and exciting journies for all.
So awesome, so proud of you !! Is that weird for me to say, when I haven’t even met you? Been reading for 3 years though! I hope there is a fitbloggin 2011 cause I want to come!! Enjoy every moment this weekend!
Roni, thank you so much for doing this! This is my first conference and I’m so excited! I will definitely stalk you down ;) See you tonight!
I’m sure it will be amazing, Roni! I’m really hoping you’ll have another conference next year so I can come! :)
I’m so happy your are doing this! I know it has been a LOT of hard work, but I think it’s already paying off. I’m being exposes to people I would never have known before. Thanks, lady! See you soon!
It might be crazy, but I have a similar love for blogging and it’s changed my life as well. Blogging rocks! Fitbloggin is awesome! And more? You are the best!
Good luck tomorrow!! I wish I could be there, but I will be thinking of everyone while I’m running my 8K.
I’ve been blogging for nearly 5 years but only just recently started blogging about my diet/fitness. I’m hoping for Fit Bloggin ‘11!
Have an awesome time!
Blogging has allowed me to meet other like minded people who I otherwise would never even cross paths with. I have learned so much from these cyber friends and love the feeling that I am not alone with the whole weight management thing.
I won’t be at Fit Bloggin as I am a new blogger but I look forward to reading all about it.
Even though I don’t blog, I wish I could be there! It just seems like a great event and obviously something you’ve put a ton of work into. I’m sure like everything else you do, it will be fabulous Roni! Can’t wait to hear how it goes!
Good luck this weekend with Fit Bloggin’ ~ I know you will make it a HUGE success (it pretty much already was before it started). Wish I was there to say hi and cheer you on :)

FitBloggin ROCKED and you do too! It was all it could be and then some. The speakers were great, the food awesome, the swag incredible…all around good times. I left so inspired. Inspired to keep on getting fit, inspired to blog more, inspired to make changes. Thank you!!!
I told you personally on Saturday, but I’ll say it again: YOU DID AN AWESOME JOB! I was so impressed. I’ll be there next year–whether it’s local or not. =)
