Run to Home Base Fundraiser with FitBloggin’ Prize Packs!

A few weeks back I mentioned an old friend and I will be participating in the Run to Home Base 9k this May in Boston. The only way to enter this race was by committing to raise $1000 each for veterans with combat stress disorders.
So far we’ve collected $705 but we are still far from the $2000 we need and of course it would be wonderful to donate even more! To help nudge you to donate I’m offering up FitBloggin’ Prize Packs! I have a few leftovers from the conference (surprisingly) and I’d love to pass them on to you.
Prizes include:
6 Basic FitBloggin’ Swag Bags filled with coupons, A Weight Watchers Pedometer, a POM notebook, a GreenLiteBites bowl (as seen here) a FitBloggin’ thriv T-shirt (large), FitBloggin’ stickers and more! All in a reusable POM grocery bag!
3 Pumped up FitBloggin’ swag bags that includes all everything in the basic PLUS 5 additional free POM juice coupons and a 10 Minute Solution Ultimate Boot Camp workout DVD. You guys know how I like my Boot Camp! ;)
1 Grand Prize Prize pack that includes 10 free POM juice coupons, FitBloggin’ Stickers, a FitBloggin’ T-Shirt, a POM notebook, the reusable shopping bag, a GeenLiteBites bowl, New Balance socks, the 10 Minute Solution Ultimate Boot Camp DVD, Kickbox Underground DVD and the KnockOut Body kit that includes weighted boxing gloves
–I love these things and used them during the FitBloggin workouts, yes, that’s me all sweaty in the right had corner–Plus more!

How to Enter
Everyone who donates at least $10 between now and April 30 will be entered in a random drawing for the prizes packs. As a bonus, the person who individually donates the most money by that date will receive the Grand Prize Prize pack.
Here’s the problem… the Run to Home Base program doesn’t make donating too too easy. They don’t have any of those fancy embedable widgets or even an easy to understand page, so here’s what you have to do…
- Click here to visit our Team Page.
- Click on one of our names on the right hand side with with the dark blue background. Yes we both need to raise $1000 individually. So if you notice one of us is much lower then the other (you’ll see our individual donation amounts once you click on our names) please donate accordingly. All donations will count regardless if you donate under me or Andrea.
- Once you are on one of our individual pages, click Make a Donation in the Red Bar towards the top of the page.
- Scroll down, enter the amount you’d like to donate and follow the rest of the instructions. It is a tax deductible donation and you will receive a receipt. I will also be notified of your donation and you will be automatically entered into this contest upon receipt.
Let me know if you have any questions and thanks in advance for your support.
Oh! and since I am handling the shipping no location is off limits! I’ll ship anywhere. :)

What's Cooking in my kitchen?

Sometimes I'll make something and then get obsessed, making it over and over and over again. It happened twice last week. First with The Most Amazing Bowl of Oatmeal EVER! I now have to stop myself from eating it every single morning. I decided to make a deal with myself [...] -
Four years ago I posted a photo journal of "The Toddler" and I making pizza. FOUR YEARS AGO! Click here to see it. Honestly, it's blowing my mind for 2 reasons. 1.) I can't believe how old my baby is and 2.) I can't believe I get to do it all over again with [...] -
I'm not kidding. I could not believe how good this was. A warm bowl of heaven. The combination of banana and chocolate chips is a favorite of mine. Add in just a touch of peanut butter and it's the perfect trifecta. Not only did it taste amazing, it filled me [...] -
I can't say enough good things about this book. The author doesn't hit you over the head with stead fast rules or try to sell some new catch phrase approach -- if I hear the phrase baby-led weaning one more time my head is going to explode -- she simple shares her thoughts, experiences and [...] -
I've recently discovered the amazing combination of cheese and dried cherries. I know, it sounds weird, but seriously… good! The other day I smeared some Laughing Cow Light Swiss on Cucumber slices and then topped with a cherry. It was a fun, sweet twist on standard cheese and crackers. Well, cheese [...] -
If I was a good blogger this idea would have been published BEFORE the Super Bowl not during it. I made these today to have a little fun. Surprisingly, The Husband liked them even though he didn't eat more than one. Why? Because he's strange like [...] -
If you read my weight loss blog you know I'm battling a bit of back and neck pain right now. I'm starting to feel a little better but those first few days where rough. Being the head chef of the household, this meant we ordered in a couple of times. I'm [...] -
I'm LOVING Pinterest! I can just scroll all day long looking at food photo after food photo. I wish I had more time to peruse! (I'm RoniNoone there by the way?) The other day I pinned a Portabello Mushroom pizza and was immediately inspired. It's such a simple idea and so light. [...] -
The other day I found myself craving an Orange Julius. Are they as popular as I think they are? Growing up we had an Orange Julius at our local mall. It was always a treat for us at the end of a family shopping trip. Once I was old enough to be [...] -
So I'm a little breakfast nutty at the moment. Little Bean LOVES eggs and I find myself cooking them more and more. This morning I decided to go super light (after last nights chocolate overload) and it was totally satisfying for just over 100 calories! The trick to making [...] -
A few weeks ago I saw Chef Michael Simon make a raw kale salad on The Chew. He sliced beets up real thin and cut the kale into ribbons. Then made a vinaigrette out of red wine vinegar and olive oil. I was immediately intrigued. So far I've only [...] -
I've had this idea for a quick creamy chicken dish for a few days now. It was time to give it a shot. The whole family LOVED it. I'm not joking. The only complaint came from Little Guy who declared his hate of mushrooms yet again BUT he ate everything around them. Fine [...] -
I made this on a total whim yesterday as I had leftover avocado after feeding the baby and leftover Spaghetti squash cooked from the weekend. I roasted the squash to serve with my Chicken tips instead of potatoes and it was AMAZING! Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked. So I'm sitting there staring [...] -
It's post holiday season. You know what that means? Leftover Crescent rolls to experiment with! Every year for Thanksgiving I buy a few canisters. It's the only time I do as I can't be trusted around them. Let's just say I'd beat you in the How-Many-Crescent-Rolls-Can-You-Eat-In-One-Sitting game and leave [...] -
Last week the kids and I tried parsnips for the first time and I've made them 3 times since. I wanted to figure out the best way to roast them. Yeah, that's it, the best way to roast them. You'll buy that right? Right? The truth is, I'm obsessed. I found myself [...] -
Yesterday just felt like a good day to stuff an acorn squash. I had one sitting on my counter for quite some time and it was just begging to be cooked. Since both husband and child don't like it I made a solo meal just for me and, well, it was DELICIOUS! [...] -
I bought a fennel bulb on a whim for the holidays not knowing quite what I would do with it. Of course I forgot about until yesterday when I was rummaging through the fridge trying to figure out what I wanted to make for breakfast. I pulled it out and stared [...] -
I probably should have warned you I was taking a holiday hiatus. I've been soaking up every moment of family time imaginable these last few days, leaving no time for anything else. Not even blogging! Shocking I know. ;) So I return not with a new recipe, per se, but to [...] -
Here's a quick idea for when you find yourself with a spaghetti squash but don't quite know what to do with it. Come on. Admit it. That's happened to you too. It's sure happened to me! I roasted this squash on Sunday... [...] -
I'm not sure if this will be a crowd pleaser, but I liked it and thought I'd share in hopes it inspires you to have some fun with kale. I loved the combination of sweet pear, earthy kale, salty bacon bits and creamy hummus. The only issue with the wrap was [...] -
I'm going on day 2 of counting Weight Watcher Points and I'm already inspired to come up with light, healthy meals for myself. It's like I needed the constraint of points to motivate me. Isn't that weird? Anyway, all morning I was brainstorming what to make for lunch. I wanted something flavorful [...] -
I have a friend who patiently cleaned, peeled and cubed a fresh pumpkin and then selflessly gave me some. Scratch that, a TON! I would have never even thought of doing something like that! But now that I have it in my fridge the ideas are flowing. First, I roasted some [...] -
CHRISTMAS COOKIES! YAY! Sorry. I'm so excited! Little Guy and I had tons of fun making and decorating cookies today. It may just be my favorite part of the holiday season. I loved it when I was a kid and now I get to do it with my own kids. [...] -
This may be my simplest idea yet, but it was so tasty and satisfying I had to share. Plus you guys know I'm a Laughing Cow Community Leader so I'm all about sharing fun ways to use their products. You guys may also know how I feel about pausing and making [...] -
I made this on Thursday. THURSDAY! I hate when I can't post something I've eaten within 24 hours. It just bugs me. Not sure why, it really doesn't matter when I post it, does it? Anyway, I did whip this up to cure a pizza craving and I couldn't be happier. [...]

Love that you have Elations and True Lemon in the giveaway bags! Woot! :-)
fundraising can be tough – you’ve come up with an awesome idea!
it worked :) i donated $10! good luck!
Way to go. I will be donating later today. I may come into town to cheer you on as I live a little south of Boston. Matter of fact I just went for my first run yesterday at age 43. I ran almost 3 miles not too bad. You have definately inspired me. Thanks for that.
I donated! It wasn’t much… but I hope it helps. It’s a great cause, and I’d LOVE some more FitBloggin swag!
You are right; they don’t make it easy to donate. However the cause is way worth the time in figuring it out. Great organization adn best of luck on your run!
Does the Red Sox Foundation allow company matching gifts to count toward your total? I just submitted for a matching gift from my company for what I donated; It’s a 3:1 match so it could really help if they let that count toward your progress.
Good question!! I hope so.. I’ll look into it and let you know!
Thanks so much!
Yay! I was wondering if there was any swag left – I was so sad that I couldn’t attend (well I was sad for not getting to meet everyone, not from not getting any swag!) but I guess wining some swag would be sweet too :)
Thank you Roni and have fun at the race! :)
I am a Yankees fan but, okay, I still posted a donation because you seem pretty awesome. Great idea for a way to raise funds for a worthy cause.
Good luck Roni.
Just made a donation – what a great cause. I live in Greenville, SC – home of the Greenville Drive – Class A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox so happy to support both you and Andrea as well as the cause.
Hi Roni: Just made a donation. Really hope I win. I would love to come in to Fenway Park that day and maybe even meet you. Let me know when you get your number for the Race. I’ll be marking it on my calendar.
I just donated…it’s not much but I think every little bit helps! Good Luck, Roni! You rock!
I donated, now I’m crossing my fingers for a GreenLiteBites bowl! :) I’m such a dork! :)
What a great organization & cause! Just made a donation – best of luck to you on meeting your fundraising goal!!
Donated last week. What a wonderful cause to support! Good Luck!
I don’t know if this is still on your radar right now, but I did make a donation today. It was small, but every penny helps right?
Lori – no gift is too small, every little bit does help and we are so close!
Just donated to Andrea and Roni. Crossing fingers for some swag!
Donation made! Congrats on being so close to your fundraising goal. You are a great inspiration and your blogs are the best! Good work :)
It’s awesome that you’re doing this and I’m happy to help you get there. I evened things out for you and Andrea and took you both to $1000! Hope have a great time at the race and good luck to whoever wins the giveaway. The FitBloggin’ swag was awesome!
