Stacey - I loved it! I haven't seen the movies yet, I wanted to read them first. I'm going to buy New Moon this weekend and then have a Twilight movie marathon when I'm done. :)

I love the see - saw view point and I am going to think about that the next time I start to feel bad about eating a little more or a little different than my usual healthy eats.

I think it is more important what you do and think after the fact. Roni you have a great attitude, realistic in the fact that you are not going to gain back all your weight from one weekend of indulences.

As long as I don't let a slip become a slide, I am okay!

Hi Roni, I have recently discovered your blog a few weeks ago. I love it that you go through the same things we all through, in our quest to lose weight, maintain weight, and find balance and joy in our lives. I had the exact same weekend, just completly off the WW plan (I've been back on WW for 3 weeks now and lost 7 pounds), but then I just completely backtracked from Friday through Sunday. So I could beat myself up, and completely give up, or get back on WW plan today and keep on going! I like your positive post, which helps me to say I will keep on going and not forgive myself for the weekend. I also love the post about all the different job paths and interests you did over the years, as I did the same thing. I never could find my exact niche in the job world. I'm still working on that! I have many interests, and had hard time focusing on one interest, or career path, and just wind back up to ground zero in the career world. But I love your post and knowing that I'm not the only one out there with these struggles. Thank you for sharing your life, as I feel the same way about so many things!

I did the "it's a road trip" and "I don't know how many points I've had so far today, so I'm just going to keep eating" weirdness, but had fun playing in the snow with my boy...so, I'll keep active and make better choices for the next 5 days and hope for the best. Is one day going to make me gain back the weight I've lost in the last few weeks? Unlikely. Do I need to be able to handle the occasional day like this and still move forward? Absolutely...practice makes progress, not perfection.

Amen sister! I too had kind of a "food fest" this weekend- but you are so right! It is important to own the good stuff- that the food I picked was healthy and I also got outdoors for some fun and exercise with the people (and dogs!) who matter to me. Thanks for saying just what I need to hear at just the right time Roni- again! :)

Great attitude, Roni! It all works out! I had a little too much wine and some chocolate chip cookies this weekend, but I got in good workouts and did the best I could. And I'm still down this morning! Life without pizza, chocolate and the occasional chicken skin just isn't worth living. :)

That way of thinking is key for me to maintain a healthy LIFESTYLE. When I was "dieting" and there were things I "couldn't" eat, I'd want to eat them even more - then I'd be off the diet because it was all or nothing. Now that I've learned to balance my diet, and I can eat all the food I love, it has made all the difference.

On a different subject, what did you think of Twilight? I saw the movie for the first time 2 weeks ago and it started me on a Twilight marathon. I read all 4 books in these last 2 weeks and found a theater that was still playing New Moon. I have to say that all that reading was great for me - it kept me from snacking all the time!

good for you for doing it, owning it and moving on! i would be nervous that i wouldn't be able to get back into the right mindsight after that (and the eating too much yummy stuff would continue) but you definitely have your head on straight. you go girl!

Good for you for jumping back in the boat. That is my problem now....I like you saying you won't gain the 70lbs back for a few choices....just wish I could convince myself of that since I have slipped up 9 lbs and clothes are tighter in two years by telling myself I won't gain it back by slipping a little here or there....sorry...gloomy I know. :(
