I love adding spices to all sorts of dishes! Lots of flavor for no extra calories, you can't beat that. :) I would probably make some of your GreenLiteBites dishes with the spices. :)

I use spices in EVERYTHING, especially since adopting healthier eating habits. I use cinnamon, and nutmeg in my coffee and tea. I found that I love smoked paprika and use it in chicken salad, baked chicken, and in chili. Spices really make healthier food that might be bland...'pop'. I tend to make my own salad dressings now so I'm always grabbing for dill, garlic, basil, rosemary, or crushed red pepper...its virtually limitless. I'm a big fan of ginger now too...its great in rice!

I use cinnamon in Greek tomato sauce, ginger in xmas cookies, oregano and red pepper in most savory things, curry with lentils, rosemary and thyme with veggies. Nothing better than fresh spices - get rid of those that have been hanging in the cupboard for way too long!

Roasted veggies for sure! Although the ginger would have to go in stir fry and for some reason right now I'm thinking that the ginger might also be good in oatmeal. Maybe with some pineapple? How weird does that sound? I'm gonna have to try it.

I think spices give every meal that extra kick and the best part is that you can tweak it to your liking. I am a sucker for anything garlic flavored. Lately, I've been using spices on my lunches. I buy a bag of brown rice, chicken breast, and veggies and sprinkle some seasoning salt, garlic salt, and of course hot sauce. It's so delicious.

Hello,

I use spices almost every day since I began my weight loss journey. It's really easy to resist fattening foods when spices help add a kick to sometimes boring vegetables.

I also do a LOT of slow cooking...so the spices would be invaluable!

I am just getting started experimenting with alot of spices. I use Cinnamon and and various others in sweet dishes but I have very limited experiences in the way of flavoring meat. After many yoyo episodes with my weight I am to trying to embrace the healthy lifestyle of loving your body the way it is. I love the message you send to us about nourishing, and take care of it, not just any junk we can throw together in a casserole. I am trying to make my cooking simpler but with lots of flavor. It not only enables me to eat better, but saves my time in the kitchen to spend with my family. I would love to be entered in the contest for the spices. Thank you for all your time you put into this website. It really helps working moms like me.

One thing I love to do with rosemary is cut up a bunch of veggies (squash, mushrooms, sweet potatoes) and cover them in olive oil. Once I put them into a big oven safe glass container, I place rosemary around the mixture and bake for 40 minutes uncovered. The aroma of the rosemary is wonderful and the veggies are melt in your mouth. If I won the spices, I would continue to invent new ideas like the rosemary veggies! :-)
