I went back tonight to look at some of my archives and it appears that 2 years ago at this time I was fighting a funk. Imagine that! lol

How times have NOT changed. I think it’s just the season. I’ve been overdosing a bit on the sweets and just fighting off night time cravings.

Funny thing, is the advice I was given in the comments (EXACTLY 2 years ago by the way) was exactly what I needed to hear tonight. Click here to go back in time. :)

Food Units
grapenuts with blueberries and light choc soy milk
leftover santa fe chicken (well, turkey) soup, some crackers and raspberries with yogurt. #tep #lunch
handful of whole wheat pretzels
granola bar
pearl onion and mushroom skillet with beef over rice <– New video post on GreenLiteBites
a handful too many m&m’s
popcorn – it was that or more m&m’s… total munchy night.
Total: N/A

It is the season. When else are there such highs and incredible lows all at once. And of course all of the food that we don’t normally keep on hand (cookies,m&ms, etc). Keep your chin up!

Roni, you really inspired me yesterday. I had been in this mood of not wanting to run when I got home from work. I only took one day off of running, but on that particular day, I had a big piece of apple pie. I usually don’t indulge in stuff like that, especially if I didn’t run that day. I beat myself up about it all day. Forget the fact, that I have run a marathon and a half marathon in the last two months. Forget the fact that I run at least 30 miles a week. I was beating myself up over one day off and one piece of pie! After reading your post, I realized just how crazy I was for giving myself such a hard time. It is amazing what our minds can do to us sometimes!

  3. I totally think seasonal funk is a thing. I think as a working mom you’re already stressed to the gills and THEN you have to decorate/shop/bake/wrap and go socialize. What the what? But knowing there’s a pattern helps break free of if or ride the wave at lease. It’s like you did a Funk Journal instead of a food journal btw.

It’s so weird that sometimes the funk comes around the same time…
Good for you for fighting the funk!

  5. Don’t you just LOVE it, so freaking cute!!!!!

I discovered Candy Canes this winter… @ 50 calories a pop, a GREAT night time snack with a tea…. delish, and satisfying!!!

Hang in there Roni – this too shall pass, you’ve inspired thousands, hope we can do the same for you – just by you knowing that we are rooting for you 150%!!

  6. This is one reason to not completely forget your past. There are always things that you need to relearn.
