It's always so fun cooking with the people you love. I don't have a son (and not planning to have one any time soon) but I love cooking and baking with my significant other. We always come up with the most delicious food.

Roni, that sounds like an awesome day. I am so inspired by how much you interact with your son, and seem to have so many sweet and memorable moments with him. I'm sure his interest in cooking will wax and wane, but in the end he is going to be a great and healthy cook. I'm sure you are so so pleased. You are doing a great job with him, and your family life looks to be wonderful, every day.

Looks like you had a great day with your son! Lots of action and I'm sure you burned quite a few calories chasing him around with the Nerf gun. We got my middle son a Nerf gun similar that actually comes apart like a long range sniper gun. He and my oldest boy have been terrorizing the cats from behind chairs and benches. Lots of fun! :)

I went through the house and threw out all the smidgens and ice cream and left over au gratin potatoes made with whole milk and all that goodness. There's a reason that stuff doesn't exist in this house.

Looks like you guys had a great day yesterday!!

Roni - we are on the same course...I spent the week before Christmas working, shopping, attending parties, concerts, etc, etc...oh and the eating! I spent yesterday slowly getting the house back to normal and also did some laundry and then grocery shopped. It was so nice to eat a home-cooked meal at home as a family! I actually stayed in track pants all day! No make up and no styling my hair! It is so necessary I think. Hope you enjoy your days off with your young man. Recharging is so important. All the best...Tanya

Janine - One day at a time! It sounds like you are throwing the party, correct? Have lots of fresh veggies, hummus, fruit, things like that.

For me having a day like yesterday keeps me going. Remember it's all about balance so indulge at the parties and eat lighter at home. :)

I keep telling myself... It will all be over soon. lol

I'm still full from all the food I've eaten as well! Tomorrow I'm on the same schedule as you, cleaning and laundry. I'm actually pretty excited about getting back on track with everything. I'm also organizing my menu for my New Years party and thinking of trying some of your appetizer recipes. Any advice on how to make it through one more week of parties? Happy New Year and enjoy your week!
