Weekend Quote: Contentment
November 7, 2009
I love quotes. There’s just something about little nuggets of wisdom that many can relate to on a very basic level. It’s why I started doing the weekend quote feature on the site.
This weekend I’ve been reflecting.
I am happy. I am calm. I am grateful. I feel… completely… content.
Comfortable in my skin.
me.
I peak in the kid’s room and see this…

I get out of the shower and see this..

I smile.
It took me a long time not to judge myself through someone else’s eyes.
Sally Field said that and I can relate. It’s taken me a long time to get to this place. This place of peace. This place of happiness. This place where I know I am good enough no matter my weight or pants size, regardless of what people have told me.
I hope you all have a wonderful WONDERFUL Saturday. Tonight’s poker. Tomorrow the gym. Weekends are the bomb! :)

Roni,
Seriously…Thanks so much for the inspiration! How nice to stop and appreciate and truly give thanks for what we have and how far we’ve come.
Many Blessings!

Beautiful post. That quote is really powerful. I’ve been musing about much the same thing this weekend–how long it took me to assess myself based on my own terms and not some externally imposed idea of what I should look like or who I should be.

I love this. The post you linked to totally resonates with me. Really.
I am absolutely not where you are but I’m inspired. I hope that someday, I can have that same ability to step back and look at myself, as myself, not from someone else’s perspective.

It is so had not to judge ourselves by others views. But I am slowly working on this. I really like being me for me more than for others but it will be a long process.

My older sister directed me here, and I have to say, the inspiration I found is welcomed and refreshing. I am one who let’s other people’s judgments get the better of me. Yet, reading this, I am reminded of what is good about me. Have a wonderful weekend yourself :) I wish you the best.

I am soo happy for you, becaue I KNOW how difficult it is to reach the palce where you are at. I am still sreaching for it. With infertility issues that is not easy. Those photographs of the kid made me smile, I hope someday I will have it.
